This kit is fun to use. I was dubious about the little soil puck. That’s the first fun step in this kit, Adding water to the dirt and watching it expand. It becomes surprisingly lush. I soaked the seeds longer than instructed. Frankly I forgot about them. They were still vigorously viable. I used the water I soaked the seeds in on the soil instead of dumping it out. I don’t have paper towels in my house so I used a swedish cloth instead. I would dampen it again when needed. The seeds sprouted quickly, it was maybe three days of keeping It damp before it was time to expose to sunlight. While watching grass grow is more fun than watching paint dry I did get impatient waiting for the grass to get tall enough to give the kittens. But that’s just because my new kittens have never had grass before.
I love that the product is human safe, I try not to give my my pets anything that i can’t eat. Even though, as a vegetarian the though of eating most of the things i buy or make for my little carnivores. Some of the foods I buy or make for them haunt my dreams… Not only was this product affordable it was an awesome value. Three entire pots for less than one pregrown ones sold in pet stores.

UPDATE: It’s been about 3 weeks and the grass just flopped over. With my Google research I have discovered that cat grass only last 2 to 3 weeks then dies. It can not be repotted and must be replaced. Also you must trim (harvest) it when it reaches about 7 inches and cut it 2 to 3 inches above the soil. Hope this helps someone.
These were pretty easy to grow. You do have to soak the seeds for 6 to 10 hours. I didn’t see that anywhere when I bought them, it’s not a big deal to me but just a heads up. I think my kitty Temperance loves them she says the flavor is great. I bought 2 boxes so I have 6 plants altogether. I leave 5 plants in a closed room with sunlight and one plant in the living room. I rotate them every day to give them several days to recover from being eaten alive. I do believe they need to be transferred to bigger more permanent pots pretty quickly but I don’t know anything about plants so this is just my thought based on all the roots covering the bottom. You can find cute cheap pots easily on Amazon. All in all these were super easy kinda fun and my cat loves them.

We are in Gulf Shores for two months, with a sandy yard and no grass. I am loving this. It is so easy and super healthy and full. Follow the directions. The dirt comes in a disk and you have to slowly add water. It will fill the dish. Then just sprinkle the seeds. And in a week you have grass! I will use this all winter now.

I have indoor only cats and one in particular who is always looking for green stuff to eat. No salad, flower, etc is safe. This was easy to do, grew quick at my house, and surprisingly strong to stay in container as cat chews on it. Very happy and love that I can stagger growth stages with the 3 pack.

Before getting this super simple grass package, I was spending a fortune on cat grass at my local pet store. No matter the directions, the grass died within a few days. I was hesitant to try this as I am an utter failure at growing herbs.
Following instructions it was only a few days before the seeds sprouted and it began growing. Several times a day I sprayed the paper towel covering the seeds with water. Within a few days it was moved to a sunny spot and just keeps growing and growing.
My kitty is over the moon with this. It grows so much lusher and fuller than the grass from the pet store. Sadie Baby eats her breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then jumps up to enjoy the grass as her dessert. She also enjoys snacking on it throughout the day too.
Compared to the pet-store grass, this one grows much fuller and it’s not dying!!! Huge savings over the pre-grown grass, because it lasts and lasts.

This kit has everything you need and makes growing wheatgrass as simple as can be. All you have to do is water once a day and give the new shoots sunlight after they sprout. The photos are accurate. You will get nice green wheatgrass, ready to be eaten, in less than a week.
I bought this kit when I noticed that every time my dog went out into the backyard, she would enthusiastically eat at a patch of grass like she was at a salad bar. I tried to dissuade her from eating this grass because I don’t know that it is safe for her, and it is possible she could pick up a parasite from the soil, but she persisted, so this kit was my solution. At first she was not interested in this grass, but after a couple of days of showing it to her and praising her when she would sniff it or show curiosity, she finally ate a piece when I broke it off and gave it to her. Soon she was chomping at the wheatgrass and breaking it off herself, although she still prefers that I break it off for her.
The best part is that she has stopped eating the grass in the backyard. She prefers this wheatgrass and now walks right past her former backyard salad bar. You may need to introduce this grass to your dog or cat a few times to get them interested and to help them understand that unlike other indoor potted plants, this one is for eating. Each pack of seeds grows a lot of grass, more than my 10 lb dog can eat in a week or two, so I plan on only using half of a seed pack next time.

This kit was super easy to use and a great product in general. The grass grew very quickly and was beautiful; I watered it every day and trimmed it every other day. I bought it for my dog who loves to eat grass on our walks, but he wouldn’t eat this grass for some reason. Then again, he is very particular with which grass he eats. The only time he would eat it was if I plucked off a few blades for him. It held up for a few weeks before mold began to grow on the soil, then I tossed it. It was a great addition to our apartment while it lasted!
