I have an octagonal shaped tank, about 3 gallons but only keep it filled a few inches and despite other bad reviews, I’m having no issues. I’ve had it running since the 8th, today is the 13th, and it hasn’t stopped once. Packaging was fine. The reviews about it being in pieces and no instructions is useless because it’s pretty common sense as the filter only fits in one direction, slim side down, the 4 little filter balls go in either side or you can let them float in the tank itself and the small intake tube can only go in one place and the foam slides over that filter tube. 4 stars because it is pricey at $20 and it does get a little noisy. Too keep my turtle comfortable without the noise, I bought 2 regular sponges and put one under it and one behind it and I could still suction cup the top one. It’s quiet and stays in place. The video clip was with my phone inside the tank.

UPDATE: I received an email from the seller right away regarding my issue and offering to replace the motor that is no longer working. Though I had hoped the filter would have lasted longer, tgan tgree months. The seller was quick to respond and offer a solution. I will definitely purchase from this seller again! Great customer service!
Filter worked great for 2 1/2 months then motor stopped working. My turtle 🐢 loves the waterfall. Product does as described, easy to clean, no issues but looking forward to see how long new motor last.

We bought this filter almost exactly 4 months ago for a turtle tank.
I have regularly cleaned the tank and changed/cleaned the internal filters, maintained appropriate water levels per the manufacturer instructions, etc. The entire product worked great – until it stopped working. At almost exactly 4 months the entire product just shut off all together and will not suction at all anymore. I have taken it all apart and cleaned it extra well just in case – to no avail. When plugged in, it barely hums and then does absolutely nothing. It looks like the seller has a 90 day replacement policy, and of course, we are just outside that window.
I’m super disappointed – will not purchase again.

I’ve had this filter for a couple years now and it works like a charm! I don’t use the suggested filter and media for it, I made it my own by putting a filter foam on the inside, followed by filter media and I put a carbon pouch on top and it cleans my water so well! Even when you use this filter with the media it comes with it works super well. I have it in my frog tank and it does an amazing job of really sifting out all the gunk. It’s a perfect size for a small tank or even a larger one with less water. The only problem I have is a suction cups broke and I had to like ductape the hole off and I only have a single suction cup left but I’m working on fixing it lol. It’s lasted me this long I ain’t giving it up!! I reccomend this to anyone, you really can’t beat it for the price.

At first, this filter was lovely — I connected it to a light switch, so that I could turn it on/off for 2-4 hours a day, as mentioned in the directions. I bought filter replacements. However, within a week, it stopped flowing. I unplugged the filter, disconnected the bottom part (which I think has the motor and the intake valve), shoved everything back together until it clicked, then used the suction cups to put the filter back on the wall of the aquarium. The suction cups were definitely losing their suction. The filter stopped working today, and no amount of disassembly has made it start up. When I turned it on, I couldn’t feel any vibrations from the motor starting to run. It’s very sad — my kids loved seeing the waterfall turn on, and it was fairly pleasant / low noise. But my tank never seemed to get fully un-cloudy, and now I’m stuck with several filter replacements for a filter that doesn’t work.

When it comes to my turtles I don’t go cheap on anything. I have a large aquarium that I have repeatedly raised Three Stripe Mud Turtles from hatchlings to adult where I let them go. I had a single youth in the aquarium for a long time. yes he was spoiled. Then a neighbor discovered soft shell hatchlings in her porch. She brought me 6 in total out of fear local birds would eat them or possibly her dog would kill them while attempting to play. I set up the aquarium for them and fell in love with them. They are exceptionally cute as ‘kids’. My purchase history shows I bought the filter in 2019. I cleaned and maintained it and then the impeller began to lock up. I’d lift the tube, drop it down and it usually would run for a few hours and then lock up again. I took it out, cleaned it and made certain the impeller could turn freely. IT continually locks up now. In fact it locks up more than it runs. When it is locked up it makes a tremendous growling noise. I cleaned and checked the cavity where the magnet armature sits, cleaned the impeller, armature and everything else I could clean. Now it won’t spin for more then a few minutes. My last filter worked great for many years then I lost a small part while cleaning it and had to replace the entire thing. This until has a parts list so if I were to loose a part I could buy a new one for it but it didn’t get that far. I’m unhappy with it since I spend a lot of time cleaning it or moving the tube to try to get it to move. I am now shopping for a new one and here is where I saw that I had bought this one and when. Not again. No way.

Pues lo malo es que si no limpias la pecera después de alimentar, se va tapando, yo lo uso con tortuga, pero es el mejor de los que he comprado y pues ahí va …

I’ve had this about 6 months now. actually got this for a small turtle I rescued and I must say its easy to use and easy to clean. Its also quite efficient in keeping the water clean and the noise level is minimal
