Simply the best for your baby. Completely derived from natural sources and amazingly well absorbed. Unlike other brands of rabbit feed, this product has been used in vet schools all over the country and there is tons of literature on its efficacy. Oxbow has nutritional specialists available who speak regularly with vets if they need more information (kJ/cal ratios, etc).
We have been personally using this for our bunnies since it was introduced a few years ago. It is a great nutritional companion to a free choice diet of multiple hays (brome, oat, western timothy, and orchard grasses).
Remember, it is not just the percentage of calcium and fiber that is important, but how they are metabolized by your rabbit. Naturally derived materials have a high absorption rate, and other brands of “natural” rabbit feed may smell great and look good on paper, but they do get the nutritional balance wrong.

Celeste, our rescue New Zealand, was a bit stand-offish when first introduced to this pellet as, of course, it doesn’t have all the extra additives as the other non-organic brands. I first started her on a Purina garden mix brand that was loaded with additives & noticed how she really went after the dried papaya. However, being only 10 or so pounds does not leave much wiggle room to over-come pesticides & herbicides in these types of commercial products. Thus organic dried apples from the grocery store and this pellet were introduced, along with black oil sunflower seeds. She has since come around. We have had this fat girl for approximately four years now. She readily consumes the apples (that she charges for everytime she hears the crinkling of the bag), sunflower seeds, and veges from the garden such as cabbage (she loves), carrots, and greens. She also enjoys alfalfa, timothy, and other hays – but at a reduced portion size due to herbicide usage. I am sure she is getting too much of something, but I feel the oil from sunflower seed is keeping her the most healthy, as well as cabbage and other garden goodies. Rarely, if ever, are her droppings runny or otherwise a concern. She provides us a real healthy dose of fertilizer and starter for our compost and worm bins!
July 20, 2014: Celeste still loves this food; however, can’t afford to buy thru Amazon since price jacked up $3.50 per bag since last purchase in April – that’s not free shipping! Would buy elsewhere, but seems the manufacturing facility experienced a fire this year & it is in short supply. Guess we will be forced to try 25# bag of organic sold via Tractor Supply of another brand…

I purchased this as soon as I was ready to transition my bunny to adult pellets. My vet had recommended the oxbow brand and I’d purchased a few other products from them that I was pleased with. I like that they are organic, high in fiber, and low in protein. The first ingredient is grass hay which I assume means that it does not contain alfalfa because alfalfa is actually not a grass. Alfalfa is higher in protein which isn’t great for adult bunnies and most adult food I find still includes it in their pellets. This food smells great and has some herbs in it that my bunny loves to eat. If your bunny does not like herbs with a stronger smell/taste, I would not suggest this food because they will probably be turned off by the smell. The only thing I dislike is the fact that there are a lot of ingredients, many of which I cannot pronounce. Otherwise, this really is a quality product that my bunny loved and is absolutely worth spending a bit more on!

Cela fait plusieurs mois qu’on ne trouve plus les granulés cochons d’inde sur le site, et c’est bien dommage.
C’est pour cela que j’ai pris cette fois ci les granulés lapins mais vu que j’ai déjà acheté ces granulés lapins sur un autre site, je sais qu’ils sont bien pour les lapins et les cochons d’inde (pour les cochons d’inde, il manque juste la vitamine c mais comme je donne des légumes ce n’est pas grave).
Vivement que les granulés arrivent à la maison !

成分表からは違いがわからなかったけれど、獣医さんからも勧められました。最初からこっちを主にしたほうがよかったのかな、と考えたりしています。

My Usagi is super picky, but he eats this stuff like…, Well all my examples would probably offend someone but he loves it. 😅 I give it too him like treats through out the day. And to encourage him to eat hay I grind them up and dust his hay with it.

I have always loved oxbow products. My Monroe has been eating their pellets since i “adopted” him. He transitioned from the young rabbit to these pellets. Rabbits are only supposed to be given a small amount daily so they don’t end up getting GI stasis. I feed him 1/4 cup as
recommended for his size. Oxbow has a chart on each bag, to show how much they should get according to size/weight. He also eats their timothy hay and their mixture of timothy/ meadow hay. As always, you can smell the freshness! It smells fresh & looks fresh. The bag lasts depending on the size of your rabbits, and how many you have. For me, it last a month. Keep in mind you are only supposed to feed once daily and according to size.. So they shouldn’t be overfed. Always feed fresh greens daily along with unlimited hay! I hope this review is able to help at least one person 🙂

うちの仔は、エッセンシャルのアダルトも美味しそうに食べていましたが、やはり色々な味に慣れてもらった方がいいと思い、今回購入しました。

I like that is it free of soy and molasses. Molasses are not good for rabbit’s teeth and they are almost in any pellets on the market. This one is not my bunny’s favorite but he still finishes everything. I mix with a little of kaytee field and forest that he likes a lot, but kaytee has soy in it which is not ideal for rabbits.
The price is reasonable for a high quality organic pellets IMO.
