Rhythmically –
This cage is to be expected for the price, it’s perfectly sized for one rat (it’s not recommended to have a lone, ours is alone for medical reasons) but i wouldn’t want to hold more than two in it for longer than needed. My rat isn’t a fan of the ramp or hammock but he just climbs the bars to get to his platform and ive got him a different hammock on the way. The door is adorable and makes dealing with and cleaning the cage so much easier. The instructions were pretty informative but very clean cut and to the point. The materials aren’t crazy obviously cheaply made and perform well under the regular pressure a lone rat creates. Over all my biggest concern of the cage is the wire floor above the removable tray, it’s no where near deep enough for a reasonable amount of rat bedding and the wire floor Is a safety concern due to bumblefoot. These are easy fixes with a little extra cash but who’s got that nowadays? other than the few issues I’ve had its a pretty good deal for a pretty alright quality. Can’t beat the price!

Pros of this cage:
It is a great cage, awesome value. It is so large and there is so much more room to decorate and make fun activities for my girls. I have 5 rats in this cage who are all packed into the small bird house on the top level. They don’t know what to do with all the space yet. I really wish there was an accessory kit for this cage, some platform covers and ramp covers would be amazing. I used hand towels and old tall socks, accessory kits would sell like crazy.
Cons of this cage:
One being hanging a hammock on any level is extremely difficult you’re better off buying corner hammocks. There’s no edge on the outside of the cage to connect The hammocks too you have to wedge it in there pretty hard. Of course the wire platforms do suck, I put hand towels over mine. The next big flaw is the shelf underneath. It is so small I could only fit the cleaning products, all my food will have to find another place to be stored. I saw the picture and I was so excited for such a large shelf, I was pretty disappointed with what I got. Didn’t come with any instructions on how to put it together, luckily I’m mechanically inclined and put it together pretty easily. I did have a problem where one of the screws didn’t quite fit and I stripped it trying to get it in. A couple bars were bent out of place but nothing too bad I bent them back. The tray and the grate on the bottom don’t go all the way back leaving about a half inch gap in the back of the cage. Where we could all assume the poop and pee is going to fall right onto your floor and miss the tray completely. The tray is very cheap and flimsy I can already tell I need to be very careful with it so that I don’t break it.
Overall I love the cage. I just can’t give it 5 stars because of the lower shelf or lack there of and how awful the lower grate and tray are. Every cage is different and it is usually luck of the draw. This cage just happened to be slightly worse than I needed.

I love this cage and my two rat girls, Ruby and Pearl, love it too. It’s a great size with lots of room for them to run around. But my favorite thing about this cage are the two large doors which makes cleaning sooo easy. Both the litter tray and the bottom grate are easily removable which is a huge plus. I highly recommend this cage for your little critters. Oh, and the wire spacing is 1/2 inch. Perfect for rats.

Bought this to house 2 female baby rats. So far I am loving the quality. Its pretty sturdy and bigger than I thought it was going to be! However, if you are going to buy this cage, I need you to be physically and mentally prepared for the HOURS you will be building this. I don’t think I’m that bad with building things like this – I can build anything from IKEA with a good amount of confidence. But I spent so long trying to figure out how this cage is supposed to be put together. First of all, the individual pieces that the (largely ripped) instructions said to use are combined, so it took me more time than I would like to admit to figure out that I wasn’t missing pieces. Many of the bars were also bent out of shape (which isn’t a big deal they are easy to mend back into place) and I had to hammer a lot of edges down so that they would fit where I needed them to go, which was frustrating. A lot of the pieces also look very similar so have fun with the incredibly vague instructions. Finally, one of the doors kept coming off the hinges because the screw was not properly welded into place so I (again) had to fix that myself. Other than the set-up process I think it’s a good cage for the price. Just be warned that I did loose brain cells figuring out how to put it together.

We just got this cage in the mail today and upon opening it and starting to put it together there were multiple issues. The plastic tray was broken into pieces, there were missing and bent screws, random screws that don’t seem to fit anywhere, the cage wheels are very scratched up, no instructions, small rusting peices coming off the screw holes, screw holes don’t align, etc. The cage looks previously used. Which is disturbing and gross normally but even more so during a pandemic.
This was an incredibly disappointing purchase, especially for the price.

This cage is great for the price. Pretty easy to put together. Decent sturdiness for the price. A little flimsy but not bad.
BUT, the way the door is placed and how it closes is very hazardous to your pet rat/mouse, etc. You need to be certain your pet’s head is not in the corner where the door tilts in or you could easily crush the animals skull when closing the door.
There is also a small access door at the top.
