Much larger than you’d expect while maintaining a good level of sturdiness.

I added lots of wooden planks so my rats could move all around. I also took the bottom grate out because I didn’t want them to have their little hands on bars all the time. I put the plastic bottom on the top shelf and used the felt things for furniture on hardwood floor to lift it up. In the one picture you can see there’s a slight crack but that’s only from that angle. My rats haven’t even noticed it. I cut rubber bath mats and put them on the shelves that were provided so, again, their little hands didn’t have to be on bars all the time. I just wash them off when I clean the cage. They love the cage and, although it does look a bit big for rats, it’s perfect. Really it’s just tall and I have very energetic rats. We have to put them in their balls once to twice a day to run around so they love the extra room.
Contrary to other reviews I found it to be quite sturdy. There was one hole that didn’t have the feeling for the screw to go in. I happen to have some cork so I managed to rig it. Aside from that and it went together well. I don’t particularly care for the small windows everywhere. I had to put zip ties and metal twisties on them to make sure they stay locked down but I did find them useful when trying to screw some of those shelves on myself. I later had my son help me finish putting them on as it was easier with two people.

Bought this to keep three squirrels in while we nursed them to full grown as they were rescued from a downed tree. They absolutely love it and are very active in it. The small slider doors and plastic containers make it easy for feeding. The slide out tray makes it convenient for cleaning.

I bought this to upsize my rats’ cage and they absolutely love the amount of space they have now. It provides a lot of room without much of a footprint so it is easy to fit into smaller spaces. It’s not hard to assemble, but it definitely requires at least 2 people. I love that the ramps and ledges included are sturdier than some of the others I’ve used in the past. The doors are also very secure, but if you’re using for small animals like rats, I would definitely use zip ties to keep the bird windows shut. I also put the bedding trap inside the cage rather than in the slot it’s supposed to go in so that there is no space between the bottom of the cage and the trap that could be used to escape. It is a bit of a chore to get in and out that way but it’s definitely more secure. I would also recommend securing the cage to the storage shelf using zip ties or something similar because it moves around otherwise.

First of all… this cage is huge! It’s not made from cheap thin metals, and it’s very easy to put together. I use it for sugar gliders so the removable shelves and ramps are a must have! It’s very easy to clean, and it’s also very secure. That latches close tight and the bars are close enough together you won’t have any escapees no matter what you buy it for. I’ve bought similar sized cages in the past that were much cheaper and that’s exactly what I got… a cheaply made cage. Spend the extra for this and you won’t be replacing it for many many years!

Had one that I bought in pet shop, but my squirrel kept escaping even when I wrapped it with chicken wire. Decided to purchase this one and it was awesome! the closeness of the wires throughout the cage prevent him from escaping. The levels and size give him plenty of room to roam, exercize and stay active. The door locks are secure. The only recommendation I would give people is that be careful your pet cannot lift the several different food openings for the dishes. To fix that issue I cut hair ties and tied them securely so that each of the wired openings cannot be opened by my squirrel pushing his head up on them.

I absolutely love this new cage. I am so happy that I found it. I had previously bought her a cage which she had for over five years but it was so flimsy that I knew it was time to replace it and it got so rusted, which is I did not realize. This one is so so so sturdy that you cannot bend any of the bars and all the corners and doors Are pieces of metal bars and not the small ones throughout the cage. Another words you just cannot bend those. The doors are so secure and I love that I don’t have to bend down every time I need to clean it. I try to reach my sugar glider. She absolutely loves her cage as well. I could put her little radio underneath with her food And not have to run around trying to get food for her. It is so accessible and I just turned on her little radio at night and she is so content. So worth every penny spent on it. Thank you.
