This game is fantastic! This is just what the COD franchise needed to revive it <3. Activision and Sledgehammer did an amazing job with this game. Dont get me wrong it has its problems, its not perfection, but you cant please everyone. Overall they really took their time and gave the community what we desired…BOTG! I have been playing cod since COD 2 and I started playing multiplayer in WaW so I remember what it use to be like and the nostalgia I get from this game is incredible. I consider it a culmination of all the best aspects of each COD in brought into one game. The other good thing about this game is the precedent it sets to move back into MW. I am not usually one to review things, but I felt compelled to give this game a good review. Do yourself a favor and pick it up.

After 10+ years and as many COD titles the fact is that we are SPOILED. Yes, that’s right… spoiled by the creators of these games. Some are better than others- MW II was my favorite- but after so many iterations we have see it all. This title in particular falls in the middle. The singer-player campaign is pretty good- typical fast-pacing and decent story. The multi-player interface is kind of clunky and excessive. However, the multi-player is the reason why I got the game. The game play itself is great. COD is the best in he business in this regard. It is extremely fast-paced, the graphics are better than average. People who complain about the lack of weapons or the ranking system are being babies. If you are good you are good. You should be able to rack up kills with different weapons regardless of the fact that your favorite rectile is only dropped in the zombie mode as it’s a rare crate item. The HQ area where one goes to get rewarded with loot is kind of silly- it is almost identical to The Tower or whatever it’s called in Destiny. It’s set up as a social area where players are supposed to interact with each other and the environment. The large majority of players, myself included, do not want to speak with our in any way interact with other people. The only exception is when they are in my cross-hairs.

If you are looking for some diversity in your gaming and want something fun and relatively easy to play I recommend this title. If you are a hardcore gaming enthusiast, you will find something to complain about no matter what. Clean the cheeto crumbs out from under your D pad- maybe that is why you can’t get the 1 shot 1 kill badge.

After Black Ops II, I watched Call of Duty go down the regrettable path of future warfare. However, thematics weren’t the only issue. For whatever reason, COD lagged behind in graphical development, despite the tremendous budgets that should have been enabled by such a top-selling franchise. When I first heard about COD WW2, I had a spark of hope, but my experience over the past five years left me understandably skepticle. Then the reviews came out- specifically, the user reviews. My doubts were confirmed. This was the final nail in the coffin.

However, when the game went on sale, I decided it would be worth the risk to be my own judge on the franchise’s return to its WW2 roots. Having nearly renounced COD, playing Battlefield games almost exclusively, I was shocked by how misled I had been by the opinions of other users. I went into this game expecting a disaster and after many hours invested, COD WW2 has completely restored my faith in what seemed to be a dying franchise. Regarding my previous criticisms about graphical fidelity, this game is unbelievably realistic running through the Xbox One X on a Samsung KS8000. It’s been a long road, but Call of Duty has finally earned next-gen status.

The introductory D-Day mission, alone, is quite possibly the greatest video game experience I have ever had. It is visceral, brutal, tragic and almost too believable. The multiplayer is fast paced and the customization options are extensive. Contrary to many user complaints, I find the maps fluid, intuitive and competively structured. My only misgiving concerning the multiplayer would be enemies periodically spawning behind you, but this has only minimally detracted from my experience. I haven’t touched the Zombie mode yet, so this review may be partially incomplete, but I felt some urgency to post, considering the proliferation of negative feedback.

Sledgehammer doesn’t deserve complaints, they deserve many, many thanks.
