very good you have to be aware of the nature of poker to apreciate the quality of this game

This game has been around for a few years but still plays fine. If you enjoy poker then it’s hard to go wrong with this one. The main issues with this game are the poor graphics for the announcers, repetition of speech with both the announcers and players. After the first play I end up fast forwarding thru the all the repetition.

Exactly as mentioned and expected. Delivered within timeframe given. Very happy with the product and purchase.

I looked and looked for a poker game that had a feature where I could set up and play my favorite poker games without having to go through a story mode or career mode. This game has a career mode which I have not used. The reason I purchased this game was the quickplay option which allows me to set up my favorite games seven-card stud, pot limit omaha high, and no limit holdem. The AI’s can be set to All Pros if you want a more challenging game. It is very fun. The format of these quickplay games are like a single table in a tournament though when your out you can’t buy back in, but it is still fun.
I really like this game and I don’t know if there are any better PSP poker games where you can play AI’s though.

Nice. Its brand new!

This game is excellent. In fact, I have never seen a better career mode for a poker game in my life. You start off with a bankroll of $10,000 where you can use it to enter tournaments ranging from $1,000 to the main event which is $10,000. I used all my money on the main event which had many poker pros and great AI in some of the players. I finished 43 out of 6600 and now I have more than enough money for everything from my winnings. In career mode you can play tons of types of games ranging from 7 card stud to Hold’em. Unfortunately I don’t know how to play some of the games. Another part of career mode is earning collector chips, that you get by completing various tasks in the game such as getting a type of hand, knocking out a certain amount of people, or knocking out a professional poker player. I have only collected about half the collector chips, and earning some of them, like getting a royal flush in a game. Also, you can show off any bracelets you have earned online, but there aren’t usually many players who play online. This is okay though as online really doesn’t offer much more AI than the computers do.
Many people are anticipating the realease of Stacked, another PSP poker game, but in the meantime this will suit you just fine. This game may actually be better.

I have never seen more than maybe 5 minutes of the World Series of Poker on television, and not a big poker player either, but this game is really good. The presentation is very well done. The opponents are tough and you just don’t want to put the game down until you can get your opponents money and send them walking. You can turn the game off at any time and when you turn it back on you are back where you left off. You can speed the game up too so you don’t have to wait for the little computer animations of your opponents to check, call, or raise. Great online (infrastructure and ad hoc) mode too!
Only downside is that you can’t customize your character that much. There are a few things you can use to make a character, but it is fairly shallow.
Overall a great game that is very addicting.

The game itself is difficult, and if you want realistic difficult poker this is the game. There is no way to skip through the tournaments and they usually take like 1-2 hours to complete. The PSP game doesnt offer much customization as I hoped. And once you beat the one tournament (the main event) you basically are done. I played the main event and placed 130 in it, In order to compete in it again I had to create a new profile and new person. The presentation is nice and The WI-FI play lets you set up private custom games with your friends which is nice. Maybe the upcoming WPT game will be better. This one didnt strike gold but its worth a rent, and if your a hardcore poker player looking for some TOUGH training get this.
3 stars for Presentation, On-line play, and very high difficulty.
Mising Two stars becuase of Limited Customization, Long tournaments with no skipping through or re-competiting without developing a new profile, and Jesus Ferguson is almost impossible to out-compete.

If you love poker, buy this game. Don’t even read the rest of this review, just simply buy it. If all you want is an easy and fun way to play poker I highly recommend WSOP for the PSP. If, however, you are looking for amazing, mind blowing graphics, pass this up. Lets face it, this is no Socom Fireteam Bravo when it comes to graphics. But if you can get past that, and the fact that the commentaries are dull and repetitive, then you have a very good game.
I love poker so this was a great title to me. The Career mode is VERY lengthy. You will probably spend days getting through the main WSOP event, which is made up off, on average, 6000+ competitors, of which you probably play 75 to 100 of. There are also a number of other tournaments for you to play, such as Omaha, texas hold em, and seven card stud. I also liked being able to customize my player, even if it isn’t the deepest character creator I’ve seen.
Another commen problem is the AI, which are often very dumb and predictable (for instance, every time they touch both hands to there chin while thinking, they are bluffing.)
Even if you don’t know how to play Texas Hold em (or Razz, Omaha, etc.) you will most likly pick it up very quickly. Any time during game play you can click R1 to what hand beats the other hand.
Lastly, if you are not sure you want to buy the game, rent it. WSOP on the PSP makes for a good multiplayer game, but there are so many missing elements, that your love of poker has to outway your dislike of this game. Replay value is what pulled the trigger for me to pay twenty dollars for this game and I have enjoyed it.
