I received my ec3000 today and am very pleased with it in all respects. First, I want to thank A.J. Sturgess for the very complete and detailed review on this instrument because it was this review that prompted me to buy this guitar. I would refer anyone wanting a complete rundown on this instrument to read the Sturgess’ review and watch the videos as well. I can attest to the fact that it is very accurate. The only thing I would add is that the playability, that is, the setup and general feel of the strings and frets, is also very good. This is one thing that I was worried about as I just had to return a beautiful instrument because it just did not fret properly. The action on this guitar, at least the one I got, was low and easy to get good, clear notes, even using full bar, without buzzing. The guitar is a good looking instrument and one you could be proud to play anywhere. The sound system is basic, but adequate to get the sound to the next source–the amp. You can hear the guitar just fine without any amplification so you can actually practice without any amp but, like Sturgess said, the little sonivox plug-in amp works just great for practice.
All-in-all, I am happy with this guitar and all the more since I can still use all my classic guitar strings and things as well as all my electric guitar gimmicks and devices as well. I plan to keep this unit humidified and otherwise take good care of it although it seems sturdy enough to last a lifetime with basic, common-sense care.
The guitar fingers just like a classic guitar, but kind of sounds like a cross between a mellow electric and a classic. However, you can use just about any device to get the sound you want so the base sound doesn’t really matter too much anyway.
Good buy and great all-around guitar.

Unfortunately, the guitar arrived broken in the box and I had to return it. Probably a shipping issue. Too bad since it is a beautiful instrument.

If you are looking for an electric classical guitar, for the price, this cannot be beaten. I ordered it Friday afternoon thru Amazon from Calido Guitars and it arrived before lunch on Monday.
The guitar sounds better than I expected, looks incredible (I got the natural finish) and plays well.
The only thing I don’t like about it is that the fretboard has a slight curve rather than being flat like an acoustic classical guitar. It’s nothing major, it just takes a little getting used to due to the greater width of a classical guitar neck. I also have electric guitars so it’s not that I’m unused to the curve, but the greater width of the neck plus the slight curve takes a short time to get used to.
If something happened to this guitar, I would probably buy it again.

the battery holder is broken and doesn’t stay in. I really just want a replacement battery holder. there doesn’t seem to be an option to do that; just an option for refund. I do like the guitar and don’t want to give it up; I did buy it at great discount but there was no mention of a broken part and it was listed as new. I guess I will just wedge some shim or tape it in or something. bummer really.

I love this guitar and the price was just right.. beautiful finish and with a little adjustment here and there it will play just as good as many that cost much more .. the sound quality is better that i expected and again with a little help it will sound great , all and all a true value

The packing looks weak and had a few holes in it.
Upon opening it I was surprised to find the guitar in one piece and unscathed!
It’s a great sounding guitar.
Unfortunately the action is high and the intonation is out.
It Needs to be professionally set up.

The neck is not right, just like the video shows, and the strings are way too far from the fretboard because of ot. I’ll try to fix it myself, or send it to a guitar store. Just beware that this can happen when u buy yours.
Neck is kinda big, and I’m a thumb over the fret board kind of guy. But thats just personal preference

So was so looking forward to receiving this guitar. Unfortunately mine arrived damaged. I purchased used described as LNIB. I believe it was LNIB before the carrier got a hold of it. I sent Amazon pictures. Amazon provided ample partial compensation after I educated I could have a luthier repair it so I am keeping it. Before disassembling, for a luthier to get the neck, I looked it over. The action is high but I’ve had Squiers come out of the box worse. This I will shim. The frets though are rounded ends no snags, well polished. The neck is thin with a slight curve to the fret board. Reminds me of an Ibanez wizard neck. I myself don’t feel the body is as heavy as a Les Paul lighter, it’s lighter than a Tele but definitely heavier that my 70s vintage Japanese classical. Very comfortable size and weight.

Don’t know how you could have set the action or neck relief when the guitar I received was not even completely assembled. Neck was half installed leaving a 1/2″ gap between the heel and guitar body. I have installed the neck properly but action is very high. So much for your “claimed” personal service.
