The watch is great, and sometimes it gets a little temperamental, but all the functions when working are great to have when you’re on the golf course. I had to reset the watch to factory settings, which improved the functionality and the operational features upon the watch.

I bought this watch to replace an old Garmin S6 I was using. This watch is much better. It provides more information in a much more usable way. The display is big and easily readable in daylight and the watch accurate…never less than a few yards difference from my laser rangefinder (Leupold). It’s also comfortable as I quickly forget I’m wearing it. I use the watch for any shot other than an shots to the green where I use the laser (not that my game is close to good enough for that to matter…wishful thinking, I guess). Distances to hazards, rough, etc., are very accurate and beyond helpful in club selection. I have yet to use the virtual caddy to suggest clubs so I can’t comment on that. It’s also nice that the watch tracks no many other activities, even though I use it almost exclusively for golf. Battery life is great. My old S6 would get through 18 holes bu would never make it through 36. I played 36 holes with the S62 and was still at 70% battery life. The quick change mechanism on the band is also a nice plus since I did replace the band with one that had a little more color (yellow/black). Finally, it seemed that the blood oxygen sensor wasn’t working. I called Garmin and after a few tries, they decided there was an issue with the sensor. They sent me a replacement and label to return the faulty one. I received the replacement in two days and it works perfectly. My only issue is that I have to remember to enter each shot, but that’s not the fault of the watch!

I am ordering another Garmin golf gps watch because I had success with Garmin. But recently, I ordered one that couldn’t find my golf course (Garmin S12). So I returned it and ordered a second one (Garmin S62) and it couldn’t find a golf course yesterday, then the touchscreen wouldn’t work 3 of 5 times that I went golfing with it. I hope this 3rd order is a NEW Garmin S42 and works great. I don’t want to have trouble again when I am on the golf course.
