Did a wired install on a narrow doorframe at site of existing doorbell button, and it is perfect. The only issue was that I had to replace the 50-year-old 12V transformer with a beefier 16V, and it works perfectly. I like the camera coverage, and it works well in the app with my existing Essential cameras. The wired feature is nice, as I’ll never need to charge it and can use the best video quality without worrying about battery life. Good features overall.

Installation was a breeze! But after that configuring was a bit of a pain. I wish it came with an old fashion booklet for instructions, troubleshoot, FAQ. I had to do way too much internet research to figure out what I needed to figure out. I was finally able to sort out silent mode AND allowing calls but disabling my house chime (I hardwired). For anyone curious you have to go into device settings -> Chime -> select “mechanical” or “digital -> back to settings -> silent mode -> toggle on -> toggle on incoming call, toggle off traditional chime. If you don’t change the chime first you will get stuck in an infinite loop of turning on silent mode and it turning itself back off after a few seconds. There is a small delay, but nothing too bad. It took forever to get it to pick up my driveway. I played around with the activity zones, increased the motion detection sensitivity, but still wouldn’t pick up movement till you were a few feet from the doorbell. I also restarted the device (again more internet research). Finally after a couple days it just randomly started picking up the driveway. All in all it’s working good now and meets my needs. Just not the most user friendly to start.
