The sound from this headset is great they are comfortable to wear for a long time too but the mike is terrible and anyone you talk to will ask if your talking to from across the room its just not worth the price

everything about this, it is plastic but doesn’t feel cheap and no creeping of cracking sounds when bending or moving, mic doesn’t pic up the cord when it rubs on things, my issue is the package, one box that was dented and the smallest Pregis bubble that were both dead flat, lucky they still work somehow from that shipping

They have fantastic sound quality. Directional sounds are spot on in Escape from Tarkov and the sound quality in Star Citizen is amazing.

LISTEN….IM GOING TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH! I have been on the hunt for the best sounding headset I could find. I have tried SteelSeries NOVA PROS/ Audio-technica/Corsair/JBL/Razor. Along with others. And hands down these are the best headphones I have ever heard. When I dropped into Warzon 2.0 it blew my mind. I Literally said (OH MY GOSH) Just unreal.
For instance in Warzone with other headsets I could always hear other players for steps when they were close. But I could never pin point where they were exactly. Left/Right/UP/Down.
These are true 7.1 surround sound. No BS Virtual surround sound or spital surround sound. That is because they have 4 drivers (Speakers) per headphone Total of 8. So there is 4 speakers on each side of your ear. With these headphones I can finally here exactly where the other players are now. Even if there on the floor above me to the right. I can finally Distinguish where for once.
Listen if your looking for the Best sounding gaming headset…then you have found it. It does have a trade off on the mic though. It doesn’t have the specs as good as a SteelSeries NOVA PROS. But it’s a still great mic. I asked my friends online which mic sounded the best. Even given the Steel Series has a better mic on paper. But my friend said that this Asus Theta 7.1 sounded the best. And I can confirm this thing is a BEAST!
TRUST ME I HAVE HIGH STANDARDS!
IF YOUR ON THE FENCE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST CHECK THEM OUT. IT WILL BE A GREAT CHOICE.
    CHEERS 🍻

I’ve been using Hyper-x alpha for about a year. It was relatively light and simple, but always gave me headache due to its tightness; especially with glasses on. So, I’ve been looking for something else that sounds decent and glasses friendly.

This sure is little bulky, but not as bulky as razers gaming headsets I think. Because of its enough cushions and comfort it gives while wearing, I don’t feel its entire weight on my head that much and I can wear this for a long periods of time. I’m not a sound expert, but its sound-quality is definitely better than Hyper-x alpha. Its surround sound is pretty impressive. This is my first high-end headset and with 7.1 surround sound. Cheaper headsets with 7.1 surround sound always had huge compromises on the sound quality, but this one seems to have fulfilled the high-quality sound. It feels like I’m wearing pairs of decent speakers.

Its setting can be adjusted with their dedicated app and it works, but I’m not so sure about its noise cancelling mic. I think it would be nice if they provide something like a tutorial for customizing the headset with the app in detail because I don’t know if the noise cancelling mic is actually working or not.

I thought this one also would have a little bit of noise cancelling on the audio/speaker, but unfortunately, it didn’t block any noise nor sounds coming from the headset. So forget about playing games while wearing this in a place like library and expect people not to hear you game.

However, overall, its price makes sense. Built with good plastics, aluminum/metal-ish material, and aesthetically compact despite of its sound-quality; and USB type-c at that.

The wire, wire . its wire is something I had to get used to because most of the products that I’ve used so far, that had only one wire on the either left of right, but this one has two on the both sides. And it feels like you’re wearing a headset and also a necklace that’s hanging on your headset. I guess both wires were required for its power. I wouldn’t give this headset up just because it has two wires.

Buttons on the headset itself is also a nice touch. I’m glad that they didn’t put the buttons on the wire. That would’ve been so annoying.

RGB lighting is unnecessary and generates a bit of surface heat, but it looks primum and you also have option on the button to turn this feature off.

In terms of sizing, it seems pretty versatile.

I’ve never used any audio products from Asus & ROG. This is good purchase. Good thing I didn’t rush over to get a replacement for my hyper-x alpha right away. I waited for this headset to be release for about a month. Now I don’t get headache b/c of freaking headset. I hate you Hyper-x alpha. it tortured my head for a year, and now I’m a free man

    Pro’s
Accurate sound (once configured in EQ)
    Good build quality
    Adjustable headband
Volume | Mute and RGB controls on headset
Great EQ | sound modes (You will need to know the frequency in which you want to elevate or tick down)
    Decent codec 24bit 96k
Premium packaging , extra earmuff and usb adapter .
    Cons
    Price
Not as comfy as previous headphone/headset (extremely heavy)
    Heavy (Y) cord
Stereo 7.1 virtualized sounds a lot clearer and louder than 7.1 mode . Don’t matter to me because it works great but does seem like a waste to not utilize those additional speakers .

Overall, I like this headset .
Things to take into consideration :
This headset is not tuned out of the box but you can easily manage and tune to your liking .
Example : You elevate the sound of footsteps and lower / compress the higher frequency like gunshots . just experiment in game to figure this out.

7.1 audio is extremely low compared to stereo

These will be my new cans for gaming .

These headphones sound awesome. Plug and play ease of use, comes with an adapter and spare ear pads. The performance is almost studio quality. They are very versatile games movies and music all clear. Volume is good, and for the price WOW. The problem is that I thought I was ordering the USB model. When I contacted the seller they shipped me the right ones AND let me keep these so now I have 2 great sets of adjustable headphones. That’s customer service

Movies sound truly outstanding, games as well! Comparing to a high end high fi 7.1 atmos system, this is like sitting in your own private theatre. Spectacular sounding cans, comfort and fit is great.

However, these require tuning to get the best out of them in the 7.1 mode on PC.
The directional sound takes time to get used to for games but it’s quite impressive when set up right, but to get the best true 7.1 sound, takes some fiddling.

I recommend downgrading to the firmware version 0034 for the best sounding experience as well as using the preset from the screenshot attached in the armory app.

(Google “theta 7.1 0034 firmware” and you can find the the correct instructions on the ROG forum to downgrade to the best 7.1 firmware for games.)

Alternatively, set the headphones to “Mobile” via the switch and enjoy incredible 7.1 virtual surround on your next gen consoles and/or phone!

My only gripe is the price, but I’d say they’re worth it if you want the best.
