Paid subscription annually, my opinion for the price, all updates should be free. Most of the updates no one will ever use. There is NO SOUND so watching YouTube videos on codes, you need to be able to read lips. But this scanner doesn’t scan or pick up on things as clear & fast as I’ve seen another brand do for $200 less than this one. It’ll get you by, but if you are in the market for one, do your homework & research any of them u may be interested in because different scanners do different things. Some come with free lifetime updates!! Huge plus! This one don’t. The catch is: if you don’t update it, like every few weeks, it WILL NOT SCAN PROPERLY. If mine has updates, it won’t even let me scan any vehicle. So to be able to use this, you must keep it updated. Most updates don’t even apply to cars we have in the United States. Like how often would I need Bugatti or Ferrari updates?? Me… Never. But it won’t let me scan my dodge Dakota 2005 or my 2006 Dakota or my 2009 Malibu PLUS you’re limited on module resets and the code search is the same exact page that Google search on your mobile phone pulls up if u were to type the trouble code for search. It’s also not that easy to understand, although it’s more of a plain scanner. I won’t be buying another Autel for sure

Purchased specifically to do a Zero Point Calibration and passenger seat sensitivity cal after repairing the occupant classification system on a 2008 Toyota Avalon. There were no problems performing either of these functions.

It doesn’t do what I want it to do exactly it doesn’t program modules
This product is the worst. I didn’t come with what they promised. They want you to pay for the return. It doesn’t work. It’s rubbish. They didn’t send me the bar code to return it. –
Good

Arrived in a timely fashion and in good condition. Product and instructions are clear and concise. Scan tool graphs well and displays a ton of data quickly.

In my case I needed to see the engine misfire history to diagnose several error codes root causes. One shop tried to sell me a new catalytic converter, another wanted to install all new ignition and injectors. With this tool I could tell it was a wiring problem that turned out to be a bad wiring connector. Saved me thousands in possible repair bills. I tried several other manufacturers that said their engine diagnostic tools would show me the data I needed, but I had to return them because these other tools couldn’t see what I needed. The only other tool available was for over $5K, so the MX900 was a real bargain for me. The Autel tech support was virtual, but great.
