多分これを欲しがる人はJP-8000のSuperSawに尻子玉を抜かれた人々だと思いますので、実機のJP-8000との違いを主にレビューします。
見た目はいかにもJP-8000ですが、どちらかというと「JP-8000で有名な音が出る」という感じで、JP-8000の実機だとSuperSawのデチューンを最大にすると半音ぐらいまで7等分されてだいぶ気持ち悪い音が出せるのですが、JT-4000では範囲が0から99のレンジしかなく、JP-8000の最大デチューンまでは出ませんでした。
このため、サイバートランス時代のキラキラした分厚いSawは出せますが、ハードコアテクノやハッピーハードコアのような気持ち悪いSawは出せませんでした。
JT-4000ではコーラスエフェクトが無いため、速めのLFOでOSCのピッチをうっすら揺らせば、ほんのちょっとそれっぽくなります。
また、MonoとLegatoが無いので、Polyのままポルタメントをかける際は1音ずつノートオフする必要があります。(なんでMonoモードが無いんだろう？)
あと気になる点としては、全てノートオフ時に発音すると僅かにアタックの出音が大きく、VCFのAmountを0にしていてもなぜかフィルターがもたついていたり、フィルターのかかり方が実機よりも強くて太いです。(JP-8000ではもっとあっさりして軽い感じのフィルターですが、これはこれでアリです)
JP-8000の音かと言われれば「それっぽいけどそうじゃない音」です。
それでも1万円以下の値段で「それっぽい音が出せるハードウェア」という点では面白いと思います。
あと、やはりMIDI端子は欲しかったですね。。。
本当にJP-8000のSuperSawが出したいのならば、ソフトウェアのクローン音源の方を買った方が良いと思いますが、これはこれでおもちゃとしては十分使えると思います。
[追記]SuperSawは微妙ですが、フィルターの強力さとSaw(SuperSawじゃない方)の組み合わせがSH-101っぽく太くて中々良いです。

I didn’t buy this from Amazon, but yes, I purchased it.
I have at least 25 synthesizers, eight drum machines, five samplers, and another whole bunch of hardware. Also have software and a bunch of iOS apps. I’ve been doing this for sometime. I would not waste the money on this and I would go directly to the Behringer Pro VS mini. This is as about as fun as the original Korg Monotron( which feels like it’s built like a tank compared to this thing). There’s no way to control it by midi unless you have an adapter to do it through your computer. For this price, I did not expect a five pin din, but I would’ve at least expected some type of midi input/output or way to split the output for midi without HAVING to use a computer. also, don’t get yourself confused when you watch all of the videos where these guys plug their Behringer key step knock offs directly from the USB midi into the MIDI Synth and start playing. I researched it and even with external power, it does not work. You cannot plug-in a decent size keyboard to control this tiny keyboard unless you are using some sort of software or iOS software.
I know for under $60 most people don’t expect midi or any bells or whistles, but this is Behringer. This is the company that clones/rips off all of the most important gear used to make electronic music in the past 40 or so years. I would think that they would have at least a CV gate out on this piece of junk. Nothing about it excites me. The only thing it does is make a Korg Volca look like a Moog. Completely unhappy with this purchase. I guess for 50 bucks I’ll give it to someone as a stocking stuffer, but I have NO use for it. I do have quite a few tiny synthesizers that I adore. Unfortunately, waiting over a year to receive this product and then finally getting it, I still would have felt gross at the abomination of this particular piece of gear. Even if I didn’t spend any money on it, it’s just cute to look at but useless.
Get the Pro VS Mini and pass on this. I swear you will be happy you did
