Like the other reviews state, this is a FUN pedal! I have it connected to my massive pedal box so it simply plugged right in to my power array with no issues. It sounds clean and is very loud! The tone is nice.

    BUT

I also own the Boss Heavy Metal pedal which is a fantastic pedal. I’ve used it for years so when I added the Blues Driver, I was deeply disappointed in how close it sounds to the Heavy Metal pedal.

I have both pedals lined up and I switch them back and forth to test. Both sound a lot alike. It’s not enough to really go 3-stars but I was really hoping for a more mellow blues sound and instead I got more of a ROCK sound. It’s OK as I have the tone control adjusted in such a way that it’s tweaked for a different sound and not a total loss but .. dynamically, it’s not all that.

The volume of the pedal is great. It really pushes the envelope, even more than the Heavy Metal. That said, it gets 4 stars as by itself, it is a kick-butt pedal.

I currently have a slew of FX going through my iPad and into my pedal box (volume -> compressor -> FX -> delay -> amp) and this pedal certainly holds its own amongst the other FX pedals linked to it. I’m glad I own it but I am not sure the price warrants what you get. If you don’t already own a Heavy Metal pedal, then it would be a fantastic addition to your stomp collection.

Lots of gain, sounds really like a cranked fender amp, reacts dynamically to your guitar volume (cleans very well as you lower the volume). I’ve tried many overdrive pedals, this one stays on my board.

If you don’t know which pedal to get in order to play either blues, rock or even pop, get the BD. It’s a great platform, versatile, easy to operate and with a wide range of possibilities. It replaces DS, OD, Compressor and many other pedals if you’re short on cash (and don’t wanna carry a ton of pedals around).

I wasted my time and bough a joyo then return it the same day, this is the real deal, quality in both build and sound, joyo sounded decent but they use the cheapest components, inputs were so cheap and the switch was hard and grinding. You get what you pay for.

One of the best overdrive pedals on the market. Transparent. Doesn’t color the tone much. Very responsive to your play style. You dig in, and the harmonics soar. Light playing makes for warm smooth saturation. Pairs VERY well with a Greer Lightspeed.

I had replaced an original blues driver pedal with an ocd drive pedal then played a friends waza blues driver…. I bought one a few days later thinking I could return it if it wasn’t an improvement over the OCD and let’s just say I will never return this pedal or remove it from my board …. The new custom settting feels like there is a nice compression pedal above it in the line …. Great pedal
