Before buying this shaver, I was put off by a few reviews that indicated a less than smooth shave. But, after looking over all of the options, this still seemed like the best option. I am glad I made this purchase beacuse the shaving experience has been perfect. I have a beard but like to keep the cheek areas and neck areas smooth. After 3 or 4 days, I can use the trimmer to cut down the stubble and then use the shaver to get a nice clean smooth shave. Switching from the trimmer to the shave head is simple and easy. Hairs do see to like to stick to the rubber parts of the shaver, but they and the heads can be easily cleaned by rinsing with water. The battery seems to last since I have not recharged it after using it for several months. The one down side is that the trimmer is not as effective at taking off the stubble as my last shaver was. But the shaver part does such a good job, that has not been a problem.

I upped the rating to 4 stars. I’m going to chalk issues up to my face and beard. It shaves my head nicely. I need to wait 2.5-3 days between shaves to get good results on my face.

After a couple of weeks, it’s not shaving nearly as good as it did initially. It irritates my skin, pulls whiskers. I keep it clean, charged, and always use a pre electric shave. I might be sending this one back.

I have an incredibly sensitive face. Even safety razors irritate, though not nearly as bad as cartridges. Below will be considered heresy to safety razor purists.
The first time I used this shaver…I was NOT impressed. I used shave soap and there were lots of spots I had to hit with my DE. I tried dry shaving with it. I did not like it. Irritated my face. Then I bought Lectric shave pre-electric shave. This is a game changer.
I have two recommendations for shaving with this unit: Use some sort of pre-electric shave product. Not shaving cream or soap. Don’t press hard when shaving. Take a little time and just keep shaving. I still hit problem areas with a blade, but the whiskers aren’t visible. I just want it a bit smoother.
Rinsing the head works great. Most of the whiskers come out using the “gills.” That said, I take the foil head off, rinse under the faucet, tap on my hand, and remaining whiskers come out. When I’m satisfied it’s clear, I place on a hand towel and allow it to dry before reattaching to the shaving unit.
I think the Braun Series 5 is a very good value. It shaves parts of my face better than a DE. I think a smaller shaving head gives better access to the lip and under the nose, for example. Combine it with an electric pre-shave product and you’ll get a close shave with little to no irritation. I even shaved my head with this. I’m sticking with my safety razor for my head, but the results from the Series 5 are actually really good.

I have been looking for an electric razor that works for me for years and I finally found it. Over the years, I tried 3 other electric razors on to find they leave stubble and irritated my skin very badly. I gave them all away. This shaver provides a very smooth shave and no irritation. I feel I couldn’t irritate my skin with it if I tried. I have been using it with a dry shave and I tried it with shaving cream. I am thoroughly impressed. I am going from a life long regular razor man to an electric razor man. I am very happy with it’s performance.

This replaced my 8 year old Braun that just had a built in side trimmer. I was looking for something similar but real happy I bought this one instead. The separate trimmer and a groomer heads with 6 slide on pcs for different lengths are a big plus. I should have bought one of these years ago.

This was a very nice looking piece of German craftmanship and felt solid in my hand. the slightly bent design seemed to indicate that it would mold to your face. After using this every day for a period of time I noticed a couple of things: you could not shave quickly across a cheek or chin, and the cleaning did not really remove all the clippings. One issue I see with the design of the foil heads is the extremely small hole size, much more minute than my other shavers have had. I am 67 and have had a lot of electric and blade razors in my lifetime! The very small holes meant that the whiskers did not penetrate easily to get cut, many were missed the first time, so you had to go over a section with several passes. You had to go slooow also so they were not just glossed over. The razor also did not do well with my jawline, requiring quite a bit of attention before it seemed clear. If you left your face unshaved for a couple of days, things got worse as the longer whiskers did not really get clipped.
I took off the foil assembly and found a few larger clumps of wet whiskers accumulated there, even though I was careful to rinse after each day’s shave for a few weeks. Not good. The fact that this is a wet-dry razor is fine, but I did not use it in the shower or after wetting my face. I will continue to use the Braun unit as it does remove the whiskers to a fair extent, just not that close a shave and you really have to pay attention or you will miss a lot! Too bad, the foil needs larger holes or slots, perhaps!

I trust the brand Gillette because I owned a Gillette electric shaver in 2009 and today it is still working! I keep using the same blade (shaver head), no replacement, for over 10 years.
I was going to buy a new Gillette electric shaver but I found that it was acquired by Braun so I picked a Braun’s shaver.
At arrival it didn’t power up until connected to the charger. Not sure if the battery was drained or it required charging to activate before the first time of usage. Charging was very quick. The first time charging took about 20 min from low to full.
Braun claims that it has a 5 min quick charge technology for one shave, and a full charge provides 50 min continuous shaving time (about 3 week usage). I can’t tell the battery running time since I shave weekly.
Shaving is much quicker than my old 2009 Gillette shaver. The new blades can easily cut the stubble. Its 3-cutting-element shaver head works perfectly on my thin stubble beard. I don’t need the 360-degree flexible shaver head.
Also easy to clean due to its 100% waterproof feature and “EasyClean System” design – just place it under the water tap and flush. I don’t even need to detach the shaver head.
It also has some other trimmer attachments. May try later.
A very nice electric shaver. Hope it can work for another 10-year, just like my Gillette shaver.

This razor gives a nice shave for an entry level model from Braun. It has a nice light feel in the hand. The only downside is the head doesn’t swivel, but the shave quality is pretty good in spite of that. Cleaning it is very easy and changing the blades is also simple. The charge lasts me a week which is great. This is my second Braun and I’m really happy with their customer service.

He tenido distintas maquinas, tanto buenas como termino medio. Y realmente este supero mis expectativas, se ve de muy bien material la afeitadora quita muy bien el vello no hubo ningun halon o mal corte, de verdad estoy muy feliz con mi maquina. (Aparte de traer la de presentacion, trae la otra cabecera para hacer cortes exactos y tambien traes distintas medidas de la 2 a la 7 para barbas largas o si es el caso para el cabello). Ademas que llego unos dias antes de lo escrito. Lo recomiendo totalmente
