Not as dependable as I’d hoped as it’s not consistent with getting the accurate reading. Also it randomly goes into Celsius and can’t figure out how to get back to Fahrenheit. So we just Google the conversion at this point. We would up buying a more expensive model of Braun and hoping it’s better.

I bought this to replace another Braun ear thermometer that I lost. I tried several other thermometers over the years & every time regretted it, because the reads were not accurate. This one is accurate (compared with readings from my kids’ doctor office & inpatient at our hospital), & it is SO quick! I purchased my previous Braun ear thermometer 15 years ago, while pregnant with my first child. It worked reliably the entire time, & wasn’t especially slow, but I was caught off guard by how instant the readings are on this one. Would definitely recommend, it’s worth sticking with this brand for the consistent, reliable readings.

Whatever age you are or have in your household this is a real must. It is so easy to use and works instantly. The only small drawback is replacing the batteries, but that is not enough to not give it a FIVE STAR rating.

We have two Braun ear thermometers. The older, more expensive one, works great. The temperatures it reads line up with what we feel touching our kids’ foreheads, as well as with symptoms.
This one – not so much. It’s a little tricky to use; you need to pay close attention to the beeps. Even then, it reads a couple degrees lower than the other one we have. Our toddler felt hot to the touch, and was acting slightly lethargic. The other thermometer read 100.5°F, as you’d expect from the symptoms. This one said 98.3°F.
To double check, I measured my own temperature – 98.4°F with the other thermometer, 98.2°F with this one.
Unfortunately, it’s been too long since I bought it to be able to return it now…

This is a good thermometer- it’s very sensitive.
The only things I don’t care for is you HAVE to have the thermoscan filter on for it to take a temperature..kind of annoying when you’re trying to quickly take your kids temp. It comes with a box of 20, but you have to have one on for it to work, so just a heads up. Another quirk is the screen doesn’t light up..this is incredibly frustrating when taking a child’s temp at night while trying to let them sleep. Otherwise it’s a great thermometer!
