The spring loading makes it so much easier to open this lock compared the the older versions of this that I remember having. I like that I don’t have to go find a key to unlock it. My cat was super pissed there first night when she realized I’d locked her out of the kitchen cabinet with the dangerous chemicals and she spent a good hour or two putting it open as far as it would go and then releasing it to thump back, but she couldn’t figure out how to open it. Now that she knows it’s useless, she doesn’t even bother trying to open it and I don’t have to listen to cabinet doors slamming all night.

Says 15 pack, comes as a 10 pack. I bought better ones from a different brand, that cost less than $1 each (around .70 cents) and these were $2 each with FALSE ADVERTISING! I priced out a bunch of brands that are long because we had trouble with the short ones and our cabinets and I only ordered these because of the price which turned out to be a lie. DO NOT TRUST CalMyOtis store!

I like how you could put them on with the sticky back and then also take them off if they weren’t in the right place and then screw them in after you got them put in the right place. The sticky was sticky but it also took off pieces of my drawers when it pulled away. After we screwed them down I really like how you just push the spring down in the front and they were great. I didn’t really think that the sticky part would work but I thought I would give it a try and the fact that it came with the screws also.

These are well made and relatively hard to unlatch by small fingers. I use these for cats, so I’m not sure how well they work with children but probably better than most. I screwed these in so I don’t know how well the adhesive works. Since it takes a good bit of pressure to unlatch these I didn’t trust the adhesive. It’s best to push the latch to close the cabinet because relying on the force of closing the cabinet to push the lock down puts a lot of torque on the attachment. If you don’t push the latch to close it might also damage the finish on the cabinet if you do not use the plastic latch attached to the cabinet.
