I really like this watch. It looks cool and it’s cheap.

I really like this watch. I like the simple and low profile of those old school Casio watches. No pretense, which is my style. As a diver, I wanted one that went down to 100m. So I paid a little extra this time for that feature. The black background and white digits is very unique and gives this watch a sleek look. I think it might be the only one that I’ve seen with that LCD setup. The only issue I have is when I go swimming it is difficult to nearly impossible to read with googles or masks that are tinted. I can read it well with my clear diving mask when I push the illumination button. But otherwise, I can’t read it at all. I have to pull out my diving light which is no big deal. Or in a swimming pool, I will have to surface and remove my goggles to read it. I reckon this will not be a problem for most people, especially if you are purchasing this item based purely on its aesthetics as I basically did. It was too cool to pass up. And I am keeping it. I have the Casio solar power watch that I use instead when going in the water, as a back up to my dive computer. Or when I really need to watch my time in the pool, which is hardly never. I love my tinted and mirrored goggles, but for indoor pool use, I think I’d like a clear set anyhow. Or maybe not, pools at the gym can be disgusting. I also wish the screen was a bit more scratch resistant, but the pool I use in the gym has an almost sandpaper like surface to it, so I just flip my watch to the other side of my wrist to avoid contact with surfaces. I hope they keep this style as when this one dies out, I will definitely buy another one. One thing to look out for with these types of watches. They claim a ten year battery life, but somehow the alarm got activated for midnight everyday. I had to refer to the book to shut it off. It wasn’t really a huge problem, but I was worried that it would shorten the battery life. You can apparently replace the battery. Tutorials are available on YT. Having worked on my diving computer, I would probably use some kind of silicone grease on the gasket to ensure water proofing.

As is known, the negative display is hard to read in low light without using the backlight and I accept that. But overall verrrry happy with this watch. Its understated, lightweight, feature full and has great water resistance. It’s perfect as a small outdoors activity watch; which is what I bought it for (beach, hiking etc). Didn’t want to bulk up to a g-shock sized watch.

Watch looks so cool. Blackness in amazing. Light in this watch is very unique. All numbers turn green.
Some ppl commented about the visibility of numbers. Well… yes. Numbers are not as clear from all angles as in regular watches. Numbers are white here while background is black. But they are clear enough and u will love having it. Just go for it.

Tested and waterproof, keeps full date, and displays both 12/24h at the push of a button. With alarm (snooze mode included). Dual time stop watch. Second time display also. Little darker of a display than warranted but overall 5/5 durable multi-function utilitarian watch for all seasons.

It does get scratched up but I find it to be easily readable. It does great for me in keeping in tune with the time. In the dark, the light works good to get a glimpse of the time. Its great for doing all sorts of work and when I’m on an adventure in the woods. Continues to work without fail. It’s not heavy or a burden to wear. And it looks good as part of my uniforms and outfits.

Great value watch for the money, sitting perfectly in the goldilocks zone between an F-91W and a G-Shock. I own both this black face version and the original clear screen version of the W800H and both are fantastic, although this black edition is definitely the more stylish of the two. I have been swimming with it three times now for over an hour each time, including sauna sessions post-swim, and the water-resistance has held up very well. The watch still works normally after these swims, a few mountain bike rides and general wear and tear after a month of ownership. I have small wrists, and the G-shock I own is almost uncomfortable, due to the large case and design of the strap – No such problem with the W800H. It is the perfect fit for a smaller wrist (and I assume a large wrist too) and provides most of the durability and functionality of a G-Shock at a quarter of the price. Be aware in low-light conditions, this black face model can be difficult to read, but of course there is the light function on this watch that pretty much makes this a non-issue. If this could be a problem for you, buy the standard, clear-face model instead(These are usually around £3 cheaper anyway). My advice, stop reading reviews and BUY, BUY, BUY!

For the price of this watch it is worth it. It’s comfortable and has an alarm mode. It’s basic and not bulky at all. 10/10.

This is one of Casio’s best. I have two with the silver LCD displays, and one with the black. Black display is sleek and modern, but a bit harder to read, naturally, than the silver ones. But that’s my choice — in this case, fashion over function. Best part of this watch is the 24-hour DUAL TIME display function — my second time is always set to GMT in 24-hour format, which I use for work every day. It’s also extremely comfortable, lightweight, waterproof and tough. I literally wash it gently with soap and water after a long run or bike ride. Five stars overall — value for money, function and durability. Caveat for the black display only; slightly harder to read.
