This is by far not a bad watch when it is new. It looks clean, shiny, and clear. It is not the best Casio watch either. I bought two of these watches over the years. One was the white one with black numbers, the other was black dial with orange numbers.
The watch is designed really well which can clearly be seen when it is new. This is pretty much the quality you’d expect from a GOOD cheap watch by Casio. But below I mention 4 significant quality problems with this model as well as the other color variation of the MRW200
1st and biggest problem. After about just under 2 years of daily wearing the watch the black resin strap broke. On one it broke off closer to the lugs where the end connects to the axis that is along the distance between the nugs. The other watch strap is ok. The watch wasn’t subjected to strong force or movement in any activity. Just daily walking, sitting, and removing the watch when at home. The resin strap is very comfortable for me especially if my arm may be sweating. But it broke in about one year on each watch.
2nd issue. These watches have a extended bezel. This is the marked ring outside of the plastic lens of the watch. You initially can rotate it if you want to use the watch as a very simple timer. It marks 0 seconds with a triangle, then 15, 30, and 45. After less than a year of wearing it became so difficult to rotate it that it was pretty much useless. You will need to apply very strong force to rotate the bezel. So that is one of the core advertised functions of the watch not available anymore.
3rd problem is pretty noticeable as well. The surface of the plastic lens and the case of the watch to me appears softer than other plastics. At some point when I was not aware of it I scratched it. There were no falls, and I did not scrape the watch against the ground. When a scratch is made on the plastic window it is very visible. In my opinion, other plastic watches have plastic that isn’t this soft.
4th problem is last but not the least. The manual of the MRW200 states that the battery should last about 3 years. Each of the two MRW200 watches I own had their battery die in under 2 years. Notice that this watch does not even have electric illumination which often uses up the battery. I even had to open and replace it. It is not difficult but for when you are told it will last 3 years, it is very reasonable to expect it to run for at least 2 years.

This field watch is the beater you are looking for. Numbers and hands are very legible at a a glance. Great for people who are in the medical field. Not very comfortable to wear because of the placement of the crown but very lightweight. A great tasteful classic field watch design. I am very glad that I went with this white dial instead of the black one. Hope they will make a stainless steel case of this one with lume on the numerals and hands. Received the watch already ticking. Not sure about the battery life but hopefully it will give me at least a year or two. Will definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a very value oriented watch that focuses on functionality and classic design. Have a good day!

The watch is nearly perfect – it keeps perfect time, it’s light and sturdy. I always wear it in the gym. It feels as if you have nothing on your wrist, unlike heavier watches that I have which are difficult to exercise in. I wear the watch in the pool and in the sauna – no problem. The only minor downside and for a watch that costs under $20 it is expected, the crystal is made of plastic and hence easy to scratch. I have had the watch for over a year and it still looks great, although, admittedly I wear only to the gym/pool.

This is my second watch like this. I use them as my beater watches. The white dial that I just purchased works great but I find the white hands hard to read with the white dial. I would suggest that they add black hands and then it would be perfect. The other one I own has a black dial and white hands and that one is really easy to read. I have one attached to my sea kayak and it lives there. It spends more time in the water and I have never had any water leaks with it. I’ve owned it now for 3 years and the battery is still good and it keeps time like a champ. I highly recommend this watch.

I bought it for beach and pool use. I’ve been in the water with it a number of times and it continues to work after being soaked. For under $25 it is a good deal for what it is. It is light and you don’t notice it on your wrist. I like the bright white face but that may not be for
everybody. The band is softer than I thought it would be. If you want an inexpensive, easy to read beater that goes in the water this may be for you

I bought the Casio looking for a reliable basic, minimalist, lightweight, comfortable wristwatch that’s isn’t precious and that’s durable and easy to read at a glance. I’ve had it for a few months now and I’m pleased with the purchase.

I am a bit hard on watches due to work. Also, I need a watch that is easy to read. I have some high dollar watches but I save them for “going out”. For work I pick Casio and Timex as both are fine watches for the price and give long service for their modest cost. This thing is wonderful for the low cost. It has no frills, it doesn’t light up at night or tell you if you have a text message or whatever. What it does do is tell you the time.
It looks like it should cost much more. I don’t think you can find a watch this good looking for this price. The face is clear, the markings easy to read. The hands are large and stand out. The hands do glow in the dark but only if they are “charged” first with light. I can put my flash light up against the face and then it will glow brightly for some time. If you need a watch that you can push a button and have light up look somewhere else and expect to pay more. No free lunch!
The strap is not the greatest but then at this price what can you expect? I replace most watch straps anyway due to personal taste so no issue for me. It is 18mm and there are so many great affordable options out there. If you want a high dollar stap on a new watch just pay more, much more. Are you buying a watch you like or a fancy strap?
I have bought a few of these over the years. They seem to last for a long time. They look good, are easy to read and are a great, no non-sense choice at a very low price. Yes, I will keep buying these when this one finally dies or gets lost.
