Throw away the oven. I mean…. I haven’t used it since I got this. I wish I could just have an oven-sized one of these placed in my house. It makes breakfast a breeze, goes up to 400, no preheat required. I think it has a normal bake setting, but I havent used it. My friends tasted a frozen burger that I had thrown in there, and wanted to know how I leveled up my cooking. Making an actually nice breakfast has been as easy as a microwave meal (I’ve been partial to breakfast burgers with egg and cheese on top). The dehydrator setting makes it so much easier and cheaper to feed my chip/dried fruit addiction. Did you know that if you cut up mangoes too thin, they become crispy like chips?!

Heres the cons, theyre not big:

    1. I wish there was a better mechanism for the door. Not sure what the new model loks like. But this one is very heavy, hard to pull the latch, and has no control over how fast or hard it drops. Just take care opening/closing it and you should be fine. I havent had mine for more than a couple months, and I see reviews stating the door breaks easily. So maybe something to consider.

    2. There is no airfry bucket. Its all grated metal shelves. I partly bought this to avoid plastic pieces inside the machine, and I don’t regret that. However, there are some recipes that become more complicated. Fries and other recipes have to be mindfully turned rather than just shaken up like some other air fryers. A little time consuming. I have also tried to make eggs in several different ways and realized that it is much harder with this model because there is nothing to really set the egg on. Parchment paper just flies up to, so I think I’ll have to get some special parchment covers for the shelves. They get messy and are not so easy to clean. I do wish there was a shelf that had a solid base for things like this, or even a small bowl insert. Some recipes just require some adjustment because its built a little different.

I love how compact and versatile it is.
I love how the trays come out and you can put them in the dishwasher the clean.
I love that you can dehydrate food. Or do the air fry, or just bake.
It uses a lot less energy than using my Big Oven… for just my husband and I.
I use it all the time when it’s a very healthy way to cook your food.

I bought this air fryer about 2 years ago and still have it. Pretty good overall. The dial is great, just turn it to adjust time and temperature. The presets are pretty accurate and good, and if need to be adjusted a few extra minutes or less heat, just turn the dial. Food comes out great, looks good too and is easy to use. I usually make 1lb of Wings and fries at the same time no problem… You can either make Wings for 2, fries for 2, or Wings/Fries for one.

Downside is, the size is a little small to make a whole chicken as rotisserie. I’d say 1kg at most or the chicken will get stuck and not turn properly. Also, the handle (one of the most used and important parts of the machine) is made of cheap plastic and breaks. Chefman should’ve used something more durable for the handle.

Overall, I would recommend this product, and if they ever decide to design this machine to be a little bigger inside (Fit more food) and better handle, it’ll be a perfect machine for the single people out there, a must have.

Got this air firer a couple months ago and we LOVE IT! It’s just right for cooking for 2. It’s small footprint leaves plenty of counter space in the kitchen. Couldn’t be easier to use, just choose time & temp and BOOM, hot fresh meals in no time. The “ONE BUTTON” cooking options for Fries, chicken, fish & meat are a great feature for those with “Limited” cooking skills. The multiple racks let you cook multiple items at the same time! It’s also pretty quiet…would highly recommend!

So off the bat- this thing is much lighter and takes up less space than my Cuisinart toaster oven/air fryer.

The Chefman has 3 racks which is a big factor in why I chose this. However. Racks are flimsy and made of a mesh metal like the vent cover on your range hood for your stove. They do not slide in easily. So you risk pushing too hard and spilling the food into the bottom of the air fryer. It is frustrating and time consuming to put the racks in but you have to pull them out to put the food on really.

Cleaning them with anything that is saucy or drips will be a pain I can tell. Like I said they’re meshy so they will bend and wear out I’m sure.

Then the door. You have to hold the top of the air fryer to push the door shut or open it. It is not spring loaded. And it has to like “click.” The door feels heavier than the whole air fryer itself.

It almost feels like a toy. An Easy bake oven.

It cooked the first food well. I love the touch/digital settings.

It has presets so you can push one button and go which can be handy if you’re cooking the same foods often.

So far that’s my review. I’ll add more as I go if I find things. I have only had it a day and used it a handful of times.

EDITING after using it for a few weeks.

Three racks does not mean faster cooking of more volume of food. Whatever is on the middle of bottom rack will not cook as fast or barely at all of the top rack has food.

There is not an even distribution of heat. I understand more food means maybe longer cooking times but in an oven you can cook two racks of food and they are both cooking at the same rate – generally.

If I’m cooking nuggies and fries—

This air fryer runs VERY loud. When it’s off you realize how loud it is .

The touch buttons I said were nice but there’s no feedback or haptic so you know the button is responding until maybe you push too many times lol

Again these are just things I’m finding that I will consider with my next purchase.

I would not recommend this air fryer unless you don’t have expectations or use it often.

At 71, this is our 1st Air Fryer, so we’re still experimenting and getting used to it! Instructions are clear, and it’s easy to use and clean. So happy we purchased this particular Air Fryer, as my niece has been using hers for 2 years and gave it high marks. We have mainly used it for heating frozen fries, appetizers and reheating pizza (which is the best way ever for left-over pizza – like it just came out of the oven or a fresh delivery!) My niece “cooks” raw meat, chicken and fish in hers, so we will try those next. There are a number of automatic buttons you can use as a guide, but it does depend on what food and size you’re working with, For instance, the “Fries” button overcooked our thin shoe-string fries on our first try, to now we just use the generic Air Fryer button, and set the time and temp lower. Came out perfect on 2nd, 3rd and 4th try. Just like an oven, recipe times call for a certain cooking time, but it really comes down to if you’re using thick or thin pizza, fries, a 1″ thick piece of fish or chicken vs, a flat piece of Tilapia or Chicken Tenders, if you know what I mean. We’ve been using it daily for 2 weeks – and we’re very impressed. It has 3 trays and 3 levels, plus the bottom drip pan (all dishwasher safe.) Takes up less room on our counter than our old Toaster Oven, and even this XL large size fits easily under our cabinets. Plus it has space to cook more and with little to no fat or oil.

This is my first air fryer, I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially that I already have a very good convection oven range, but I wanted something smaller that I don’t need to pre-heat and consumed less energy for smaller portions.

This fryer works great, and the results are also far superior! For example, sweet potato fries are always difficult get get crispy without going dry or burning in a convection oven, and in this air fryer, it was super easy to get top results. I appreciated being able to watch the food doneness with the window and integrated light. Garlic bread results are out of this world, not anything like I’d get with a convection or on broil, I’m not sure why, but I suspect the hot air also fries a bit the butter and gives it an delicious nutty taste. I also tried reheated pizza, this needed a few tries, and I got the best results by preheating the pizza slice in the microwave first to get it nicely warm/hot, and then a quick 5 minutes in the air fryer to get a very nice crispy crust. You really need to have a bit of oil on the food; I tried spring rolls without oil and the results were not great at all, but just a brush of oil makes the difference.

Although there are multiple trays, I found that two trays with sparsely spread out food items what the max it could take and still give good results. Otherwise the lower trays don’t get enough heat and don’t fry at the same speed.

The mesh trays feel a bit thin and are occasionally difficult to slide in when the oven is cold, but they work very well and surprisingly very easy to clean despite not being coated. I believe they’re easy to clean because the food cooks from the hot air moving around instead of heating the tray. In all cases, I get to clean them with a sponge, whereas in my convection oven my air fryer trays often got super sticky and very hard to clean, despite being coated. All in all, I think these trays are perfect for this oven, and I’m hoping they will last well.

I’m not sure how well the oven itself will last, I’ve read reviews that units failed quickly. In my case, I’m not seeing any sign that it would break down any time soon. It looks well built, runs quietly, and the touch controls are entirely electronic so they shouldn’t fail. There’s a halogen lamp inside the oven for lighting the food, it looks like replacing it would require disassembly, but since halogen lamps last a long time and work great at high temperatures, I’m not too worried at this point.

All in all, I’m very happy with this air fryer, and crossing my fingers that it will wear well!
