they look extremely sturdy, like easily strong enough to hold those big blow up xmas decorations. I feel terrible however that they were too big for my little spiral tree so I requested a refund. Well Amazon not only refunded me but said not to return the item. It was my error so kudos to Amazon. I Need to look closer at product description and not just the picture….

At first I laughed at writing a review on tent stakes.. come on tent stakes.. then it dawned on me that I had spent a considerable amount of time researching and using different tent stakes before I bought these. (this being the fourth set I own, as I have replaced all the needed stakes in my camping kit with these.)This was the first I picked up from Amazon. Plastic ones break too easy. The wire ones bend when you are pushing them into hard ground. What you want it a good solid stake that will hold in soft ground and strong enough to get a grip in hard soil. These stakes are the ones that have worked the best for me. I have used them to hold down a large tarp that was trying to be a flapping large sail pushed be a strong wind and they held.

I would not recommend these. At all. They are very light-grade steel and in fact bent severely when I hit a rock. But worse, the design is flawed where the round hook meets the stake (it is not one piece) creating a pinch point which very easily cuts your tent line, especially when pulling the stake up. Happened twice to me. Save your money.

Very nice stakes. We use them to hold down our Christmas decorations in the yard. They are very sturdy and do the job very well. I would image they would work just as well for a tent, but Christmas decorations are much more fun to put up.

These stakes are a little pricy for what they are. I bought them simply to fill out my cart in order to get the $20 off of $100 spent on select Coleman promotion that Amazon was running. You can probably find these for a better deal in the camping aisle of the local box store.

If you’re a real trekker, carrying all your gear, tent, food and water, then this is not the product for you. These are very heavy-duty tent stakes, suitable for a very large tent, or for securing a tent that is going to be in very windy weather. They are big and heavy, way too much for lightweight or weight-conscious camping.
That being said, in the three-odd years I’ve had these stakes, they go in and they stay in. This is for hand placement or a stomp with a boot. If you’re using a hammer, and you run these things down into the earth, they are as secure as you can get, and it’s going to take a tornado to take your tent away. But, surprisingly, they have always come out very easily. They usually come out with a simple hand pull, or I just hook one stake into the other, and they come out with this method.
I have experienced absolutely no bending with these stakes. They have not even had their blades bent or warped from emplacement or removal. They are very tough, very sturdy, and will retain their shape.
My only complaint is that they stain very easily and quickly. After one campout there was considerable staining on all stakes from contat with earth. They always clean up easily in hot water with a quick brush. They still work fine, and still have not rusted, but they are very blotchy, as the staining is black/dark gray. This staining has had no effect on performance.
Bottom line: for car camping or other equipment-heavy camping, or for use where your tent or fly or shelter needs to be secure, this is a great purchase, well worth the price. But for true trekking and hike-in/out camping, these are really more than you need.

Awesome durable tent stakes! I use these tent stakes for staking my turkey blinds down in the windy conditions of spring in Wisconsin. Never had a stake pull out, ever. ( The strong wind did rip the tie down of a cheaper blind however!) The stakes are difficult to bend if you drive them in at the angle to secure your tent. Did bend one by using a rock to drive it in the ground, did not drive the stake level, hit it on the side and forced the stake to bend. After that, I always take a stake mallet to drive the stakes in properly.

I got these stakes to hold a cover on our sons small, inflatable pool. it works great! they seem to be pretty sturdy and that they will hold up nice over time. one of our friends loved our set up so much, they asked 101 questions and for all the links. so, I have already recommended these same stakes to other and if I need more for another project, I would get these again.
