I have been an avid camper and backpacker for years. Though I’m certainly no Edmund Hilary, I’ve had my share of outdoor sleeping bags. However, I’ve never had a Coleman bag. But after two uses, I have to say I am pretty impressed. If fit and finish quality of the stitching is really very good. The bag seems to be heavy duty ready, though it is fairly light compared to similar bags. The film material is denser than ideal, but not so much as to be uncomfortable Equally, the core shell material is a very slick nylon, which should prevent any kind of moisture from getting into the bag. It also means it’s not as breathable as some of the newer materials. But that doesn’t really matter for the average overnight hiker. Weight is really good . The slipbag it comes with is kind of worthless and I prefer having my own straps to secure it to the bottom of my pack. But it does crush up pretty good. I suspect if you are an average overnight hiker or going with scouts or something this bag is gonna do you well in almost any situation. I also love the red color. This one came in, as I’m not a big fan of the neon trends that are going on right now. Coleman has done a very good job, and I’m excited to continue to use this into the future.

I was a little skeptical this would work for us as my husband and I are not small people. He’s 6’ and I’m 5’10” and this sleeping bag worked perfectly for us! We do use it in the summer so I’m not sure how well it would work in colder weather but it’s definitely warm and cozy

– This bag weighs in at 5 lbs. with the stuff sack, so it’s heavier than many three season deg. F bags, especially heavy for backpacking bags.
– Based on quality and fill, it’s “heftier” than my other 3 season bags, and with a lot of fill. So I’d feel comfortable taking this out on a 30 deg. night. It’s a rather thick bag, so it might even be good enough as a “light winter” bag (~20 deg. F).
– The quality of the bag is good. The zippers are metal with a plastic guide, and fine teeth…so not the best zippers (compared to MSS), but typical. And I’ve found no stitching flaws.
– The size is good. I’m 6’1” 280lbs., with broad shoulders. I have no concerns on length, and the width is adequate. Sleeping bags are always a little tight in the chest/shoulders for me…some of which I just can’t use….but I feel comfortable enough in this bag. For me, I’ve learned to avoid bags less than 31.5” wide, and this bag claims 75×33”, so this bag really is a perfect fit for me.
– This bag completely unfolds into a camp blanket/quilt.
– The sack is a basic stuff sack; but way too small for the bag. I’ve reviewed and repacked at least 15 sleeping bags and I have never had a harder time getting a bag back in the sack than this one. The bag is bulky, which is good for warmth, but makes it hard to roll/stuff. And you have to keep the bag rolled damn tight to get it back in the bag!! And Coleman did this weird thing where you have to rip the tag on the sack to expand the sack wide enough to get the bag back in the sack (I suppose for evidence of use?). The bag also has these bed roll cords which due to the bag bulk, are difficult to use and therefore useless, and probably won’t last. So for this, you likely won’t be able to get the bag in the sack in the field (took me 4 attempts on my bed), so I’d recommend getting a larger sack with compression straps for this bag.
Bottom Line:
This is a hefty, thick, and well-sized (for me) bag which is certain to keep me warm on cool nights, and perhaps even on a few winter nights. The sack is too small and inadequate though.

Got this for me and my partner and it’s wonderful! Soft and warm and plenty big enough for both of us (he’s 6’2, I’m 5’2). Also absolutely love the colours!
Biggest downside to this though is that it’s absolutely impossible to roll it back into its stuff sack. I legitimately don’t know how other reviewers did it. My partner and I couldn’t do it at all and we tried for close to an hour. Our solution is to get another stuff sack, separate the sleeping bag into two, and store them into separate stuff sacks. Not the most ideal but they both won’t fit back in the original together.

The Coleman’s Flatland Sleeping Bag for couples is great. It is very soft to the touch and the fabric that touches the skin is breathable. I have used it when it has kind of been too hot for a sleeping bad and I was not uncomfortable. I simply left it unzipped was able to stick my feet out of the bottom. Then I got a perfect night’s sleep. I am also a big person–250lbs and 6’3″–and this sleeping bag fits me perfectly in length and there is plenty of width for me and my sleeping partner. It comes with it’s own stuff sack. It zippers shut very easily–that “Zip Plow” technology really does make it so the zipper doesn’t snag. I wholeheartedly recommend this sleeping bag, even if you are sleeping alone. It is just comfortable.

This is definitely a large bag. You would not want have to carry this far. It’s great for car camping. I use it while hunting in the winter. I stay in a trailer, but it does get fairly cold at night. Not enough for a sub-freezing bag, so this one does great. I like that I can move around a bit and don’t feel like the bag is trying to smother me.

Comfy, simple, lightweight

I got this for my teenager who is 6 feet tall. Perfect warmth for spring and summer nights and liquids pill on the fabric so it comes in handy for kids who spill everything. Good quality zipper, it’s always helpful to not have the zipper falling off right away. Very good value, this brand always has been and I trust it.

It was time to upgrade my son to an adult sleeping bag. He loves it and it works great whether he is gone camping or at a sleepover with friends. Seems like it will hold up well!
