I had an algae bloom for the first time after owning aquariums for 35 years. The first picture, I was actually taking a picture of my cat Izzy. But you can see how cloudy my 40 gallon tank is. The algae bloom just came out of nowhere, I have a canister filter with New Media in it except for the biological media part. Drained half the water still had cloudiness. Attached the UV sterilizer and this is what my tank look like after 2 days. This is a dynamite product. It even comes with a spare bulb and a spare filter.

okay so i ordered a brand new coospider UV filter for my aquarium and i received a used uv filter that had water on the filter and visible water damage on the UV light. when you order a brand new product this should not happen.
UPDATE: i am changing my review from 1 star to 5 stars because this product works! before i was having huge problems with water clarity, i think it was due too algae and bacterial blooms well this coospider uv light thingy fixed it! i am using this in a 20 gallon long tank aqueon and dude its a night and day difference! my tank went from having nasty water 3 days after water change’s to having the clearest water in town 3 weeks after a water change! thanks coospider!

I hooked this up let it run day and night hood light on for 7 days. Drained 30 gal tank half way down. Filled back up continued with ultra violet light pump. Today is July 4 th 13 days in and woke up to a clear tank this morning. It’s my birthday today. A great birthday present. It is truly amazing. Thank you for a product that finally lives up to its name. Buy this product !!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a really bad algae issue (no before pictures, sorry). This UV filter cleared it up in a few days. The water stayed beautiful for several months. I had to replace the bulb after 4 months. It is very quiet, yoi barely notice it is there. Highly recommended!

Seen a video on this filter for fish tanks and it did what it was suppose to. I have a 40 gallon tank and it was always getting dirty. I tried this and the tank was perfectly cleaned in 3 hours. I give this a thumbs up recommend it highly.

Excelente. Me ayudó con el agua verde. Intente recambios mas seguidos. Caracoles y nada. Este filtro. Aunque un poco grande. Si funciona. No evita que que las paredes se pongan verdes. Lo que hace es limpiar el agua. En dos semanas de uso se ve muy bien la pecera

I don’t know what’s up with the bad reviews, but they almost dissuaded me from buying this. I have a 29-gallon freshwater tank, and the water is perfect now and there’s no new algae on the glass, rocks, or plants. The water pressure is great, and the added air through the filter is a good amount. It’s also silent.

I bought a JUB-01 in Jan 2024. Installed it in a 70 gal turtle/fish aquarium on my light timer so it only ran about 10 hours per day. It worked great when it was first installed and cleared up the cloudy water in a couple of days. I recently noticed the water getting cloudy again and saw the light was not blue at the bottom. I pulled the filter and when I opened it up the inner quartz tube around the bulb was totally filled with water. The bulb was corroded and shorted out. I am a Plastics Engineer and started looking at the O ring interface to see if silicone grease or a thicker O ring might help fix the issue. However I noticed that it looks like the factory applied a layer of “glue” inside the molded cylinder where the O ring on the quartz tube is supposed to compress and seal. It might have worked, but was poorly executed. It was not smooth and has ripples in the glue surface so the O ring cannot compress evenly and seal. This was not normal for this type of design and after 20 years of working with Chinese suppliers sourcing plastic parts for major US companies, I am guessing the molding diameter was out of specification. To save a few bucks, rather than scrapping the parts, they tried to rework them using a “glue” wiped inside the plastic cylider to decrease the inner diameter by 0.5mm or so and better compress the O ring. However there are large ripples in the hard glue surface so it is not even and there is no way for it to make a good/even compression of the O ring around the entire circumference. Maybe it was smooth enough to work sometimes, but If you get one of these and see a “glue” build up where the quartz tube/ O ring is supposed to seal I do not recommend using it. Just send it back. Looking at reviews from late 2023 to early 2024 a lot of units reported leaking. I’ll bet they all have this “glue” rework inside of them. They need to fix the molding process or modify the molding tool so it has the correct dimensions for the O ring to seal without adding crap to the inner sealing surface as a band-aid.
