Set this floor to ceiling bike storage rack on the side of our house that is covered and has a solid wood top structure. It holds two bike and is very easy to take them down.

This stand is excellent, it’s made of high quality materials and takes literally no time to assemble and put into the space you’d like. The storage hooks function very well and it’s easy to take down and put up. I don’t generally utilize this rack all that often in the summer time when I am cycling through my various bikes but during the colder months when certain bikes tend to not be ridden they’ll come inside for the winter and this rack has a great home in my office as I anticipate warmer weather to return and for me to get back out on the bicycle. It’s at a great price point and insanely versatile.

I’m quite impressed at how stable this rack is. When tightened up properly, it barely wiggles when you shove it. It handles my 40lb commuter/tourer and 20lb road bike no problem, and I wouldn’t be concerned about pushing it all the way to its rated 45lb per bike capacity. Material quality is also much higher than I was expecting.

Assembly was not at all difficult. All you have to do is bolt the hooks to the end of each arm, and then attach the arms to the upright pole. Setting the pole upright is also quite easy, just adjust it using the telescoping sections until it’s snug against the floor and ceiling, then use the tab at the base to finish tightening it up. Make sure you really tighten down the telescoping sections really well, else they’ll slip. It works best on hard floors, but thin carpet is doable. If you need extra security, there are holes to secure it to the floor and ceiling. I put it in the patio area of my apartment building, and had no problems.

Adjustments require a hex key, but the included one isn’t the disposable thing you usually get. It’s even ball-end! Adjustments can be a bit fiddly; you have to take the bike off to move the hanger up or down. Otherwise, the bike’s weight causes it to bind up, but that does mean it’ll stay put once the bike is on there. It’s also not something you’d need to adjust frequently.

As mentioned above, the build quality is also surprisingly excellent. The main pole is made from aluminum extrusions, with steel bits for the bike holders. All plastics are the tough kind, like nylon (some with glass fiber reinforcement.) I’m very impressed.

The only complaint I have, aside from finicky adjustment, is I wish it came from velcro straps to keep the front wheels from flopping around. Other racks I’ve tested include them, and they’d be a nice extra. Mostly, you can just adjust the cradle so it holds the bike leaning forward to resolve this, though. It will rotate if you lean against the front/rear of a bike on it, so be careful there. I also wish the rack had a place to store the hex key.

While on the expensive side, compared to similar designs, this particular storage rack is very high quality and extremely solid. My only complaints are very nitpicky, and it’s a very good design. I give it my thumbs up.

We currently have one of those bike racks where the top leans against the wall and the bottom two legs flare out away from the wall, and it does its job, but it always looks like it’s about to fall because gravity is the only thing holding it there. I wanted something sturdier and more permanent, so I got this rack figuring it couldn’t be any worse.

Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I opened this up. Everything about this rack screams quality and sturdy. The main vertical tubes are beefy aluminum extrusions, not some cheap thin gauge steel. The arms that hold the bikes are likewise really solid pieces cut from steel plate that is over 1/8″ thick. The hardware holding everything together is also quality with nice finger knobs for adjusting things. The pads that rest on the floor and ceiling are semi-soft rubber so they should grip nicely, and there are a couple screw holes on each pad where you could put screws (not included) into the floor/ceiling to make this even more permanent.

I like the mechanism for tightening this against the ceiling. You use two knobs to extend the main tube to fit snugly between the floor and ceiling and then at the bottom is a lever (also beefy, so you can really crank it down if you want) that turns a screw that applies more pressure. I love that they designed it so that the lever lengthens the main tube to tighten, but it doesn’t allow the foot pad to try to rotate as you turn the lever, so you don’t have to worry about the foot/pad trying to move because it wants to rotate. Really nice thoughtful design.

When I received it, one of the screws and plastic “washers” that are used to fasten the bike holding arms to the tube had backed itself out and was loose in the plastic bag containing the main vertical tube. Probably just rattled itself loose during shipping; thankfully it was still in the bag, but because the end of my shipping box was partially open, it could have been more of a hassle had the screw/washer fallen out of the box. The screws have threadlock applied to them, but they were all loose. I’d recommend the manufacturer tighten the screws down more to make sure they don’t rattle loose.

The only other thing that I would have loved to have seen (but I’m not taking points off here) is if they would have included a couple hooks or even shelves that could also mount to the vertical tube to hang helmets, shoes, etc. on. That would have really made for a top notch bike storage solution. Maybe even sell them as an option.

That said, I’m very pleased with this rack and would happily recommend it to anyone and would certainly purchase it again if the need arises
