The gun seems to be well engineered and constructed of quality material.Reasonably accurate and quite powerful, nice and light, the 11 mm dovetail is nice for mounting a scope, trigger was originally fairly heavy, but with some modifications- (I took out the thin strip of metal that keeps the gun from firing with the bolt is open and did some significant filing on the hammer and the trigger.) It is now close to a hair trigger. I do not recommend this, unless you have skill analyzing the functioning of your gun, as you proceed through the steps. Adding an extension to the pumping arm helps. Pellets are sometimes tricky loading. All in all a fun game to play with.

You get an enjoyable gun for the money with this one. The build quality feels really good in the hand, nice weight, it’s well balanced, easy to pump, and plenty of power. I’m using it with pellets for backyard plinking/target shooting/pest control and really enjoy shooting it. It is very accurate out of the box and even better with the cheap CVLIFE 3-9×40 Optics R4 I added. I did shoot a few bb’s through it but I don’t recommend using these. In my experience, the rifled barrel tended to spin them in all directions. The only negative I’ve had is when loading pellets, make sure the gun is pointed down. I’ve had a couple pellets roll back into the bb storage area. Other than that, I think this is a great purchase, I highly recommend it.

Excellent air rifle, terrible packaging and shipping.
Durability: Made of very durable polymer, and is easy to repair (just check youtube).
Accuracy: extremely good, no serious grouping yet, but since it was from a tried and true 880, the group size should stay the same as less then .15″ center to center grouping at 5 meters rested (average garage shooting distance). Mine prefers Crosman 10.5 grain CPUM pellets (Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum) but each gun is different, so try multiple pellet brands.
Value for money: Good value, you get a lot of gun for the money.
Weight: light weight but doesn’t feel like a toy.
Power: same as an 880, because it is the same gun on the inside. Around 700 fps with 7.9 grain lead pellets, and 625 with its preferred 10.5 grain pellet.
Loading: pellets are hard to load at first but you get the hang of it quickly. Same applies to any Daisy or Crosman single shot pellet gun.
BBs: avoid shooting BBs in this gun. While the dodecahedral rifling won’t be damaged by BBs, BBs won’t be accurate in this gun. (Correction, they turned out accurate in mine)
Hunting capabilities: Stick with small game and only with pellets. It delivers around 7.5 to 8 fpe (foot pounds of energy) limiting it to squirrels, nuisance birds, and smaller. However, it is still dangerous. Do not shoot people or pets with this air rifle.
Packaging: Barrel and shroud arrived bent, but I had spares to replace those parts (from a daisy 880, exact same barrel assembly and shroud)
Misc: pump latches needed to be sanded slightly. Polymer dovetail rail on receiver is much tougher then it seems, feels much sturdier then the rail on the Daisy 35 and 880. Easiest daisy to pump (less force then 35, and better grip then 880). It is very ergonomic compared to other air rifles in its price range. The bolt has to be cocked for this gun to be able to pump air. LOP is adult length.
Update: added a 5 shot group at 5 meters.
Update 2: added low profile scope rings, the high profile rings that came with the Winchester scope had some wobble, and shot a group so small I couldn’t measure it as it only tore the paper, not put holes in it. This gun rocks! Also, for those who like to dress up their guns, vinyl, or at least the carbon fiber vinyl I used, sticks very well.
Update 3: on a whim, decided to test with bbs (daisy precision max). Amazing grouping! 1 pull to the left, but the remaining 9 shots were in less then 1/2 an inch ctc. I take back this gun not being accurate with bbs, never had a 880/901 shoot this well. It beat my 35! Now my designated bb shooter, and a good recommendation for someone else’s. Picture included, shot at 5 meters like usual. Added a ziploc around 1/4 full of sand in the stock, makes a very well balanced shooter a little over 5 lbs. White targets are from pellets, cardboard is from bbs.

The 901 has proven to be a great buy. I have a Crossman 1377, a vintage Benjamin 132 and a1977 Crossman Powermaster 760 to compare..it handily out shoot all of them.. granted the 760 is a smooth bore.. Great ergos for an adult, fps with Crossman 7.9gr hp ran from 480 at 3 pumps to 720 at 10. The sights are fantastic for aging eyes-although not super precision are perfect for intended use of pinking as I’m hitting shotgun husks at will from 20 to 60 feet goofing around..which is what I what I bought this for-having fun. Picked up a Buck Rail suppressor for the heck of it and is super stealth..not that it needs it but is fun.. Heirloom..no, but is a quality, solid in the hands, decent enough trigger, adjustable power, accurate little shooter.. Recommended.. FWIW, I test shot 2 Weihrauch springers, which are Amazing, beautiful, totally heirloom quality, but the violent and loud nature of a springer has me appreciating this pneumatic little pumper..

I bought this rifle because I wanted a pest control tool with power I could regulate. I live in a very densely populated suburb and have to be extra careful where my shots go and how much power I use. This rifle fits the bill perfectly. Three pumps seem to have enough power for most of my shooting, but it’s nice to be able to use 10 pumps for more power if needed.
I have a 5 Meter range set up in my garage, nothing fancy but with a good pellet trap and lighting. I first shot a few pellets at an archery foam block at short range to make sure I would hit point of aim. A couple of clicks of elevation put the sights spot on. When I shot the first five pellets at the target I could hear the impacts on the pellet trap. I thought I was missing because I only saw one clean hole, but didn’t see any his on the sheetrock. It was when I switched to a heavier pellet I realized all my shots had been going through the same hole. At 5 Meters this thing is ACCURATE! The red fiber optic front sight is great and easy to use, the rear sight is also easy to use.
The rifle smoothed up a little with some initial use, and it was easy enough to get the hang of loading pellets even with my big hands. Don’t let the low price fool you. This is a light and handy little pellet rifle that is perfect for indoor target shooting and pest control in a densely populated area. From all the reviews I have read I think this rifle will hold up well.
