Dash makes some cute kitchen gadgets, and this stand mixer is not only cute but functional… most of the time. It has a tendency to overheat when mixing firmer ingredients (think pizza dough), but it doesn’t overheat until it’s done anyway, so we comically think of it as a built-in timer…or a deadline.
We bought it almost 2 years ago now, and it’s only overheat a handful of times, so it’s not too big of a worry. When mixing thicker dough, it can also come up the metal mixer arms, so you need to watch it and push it down (carefully) with a silicone spatula. It only does this when it’s sticky and heavy… but I expect any stand mixer will have this problem. We’ve made pizza dough, cookie dough, sour dough, meringue, custard pie fillings, and cupcakes… so many cupcakes. I’m honestly waiting for it to overheat and not work anymore so that I have a good reason to buy the one we all want to have… but in the mean time, using this thing shows the household that we do use it, and for that, it’s worth it’s very inexpensive price tag with occasional overheating. Use it till it breaks, then buy a better tool when it does. That’s how you prove to yourself that you do need that big expensive gadget. Until then, this little dash mixer is serving us well.
4 stars for it’s price, and only for it’s price. It works quite well, but does have some issues… but it’s also very affordable and a perfect entry to the kitchen stand mixer world. Imagine buying a more expensive one and only using the thing a couple times a year? Buy this to test your use case. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Considering the price of this mixer i cannot fault it at all. I bought this for my small business making batches of cosmetics/bath products. The bowl is so much bigger than I thought and is quite tall, which is perfect when adding powdered ingredients as they don’t puff out when you turn the mixer on. Even the slowest setting was good enough to whip up solid Shea butter easily which I was quite impressed with. There is an option to slide the bowl along the base with a lever, this isn’t something I’ve seen before but found it really useful because you can move the bowl to make sure the beaters catch whatever is on the sides. The stainless steel is really easy to clean and the design is lovely and very cute. It’s compact and small but still big enough to make a decent amount. I have even put away my expensive kenwood mixer and replaced it with this one because it is so much more user friendly and light. You can fit it in a narrow kitchen cupboard with loads of space still. It is so sturdy as well and the materials are probably better quality than mixers I’ve had costing over £100. I’ve also found expensive mixers might shake a lot and move around on the worktop but this didn’t even budge. I love this little mixer and honestly can’t find one thing wrong with it for the price which surprised me as I wasn’t expecting much for £13. I’ve seen a lot of people write negative reviews on this mixer (there are a few on amazon) because it is small but that is the whole point and it is ridiculously cheap.

While the pricepoint is good, the product is flimsy. It is made of plastic and when mixing it moves on the counter. I bought this for my mom, because she is to weak to stir and can’t lift the larger heavier models out there.
This one is light (which may be it’s downfall) and the directions say you only have 3 minutes of mixing time and then it needs to take a break?!
But, Very nice color, lightweight and easy to work.

Such a great mixer for the price! 😀
Just whipped up a batch of brownies no problem! Bowl is far bigger than i was anticipating and compared to how it even looks!
Plenty of speed choices and has the option of moving the bowl from side to side both to add ingredients and to mix the whole bowl. Always use a spatula to get any missed ingredients in my other one anyways.
It’s really lightweight and small so good for storage 🙂 comes with two beater types for cakes etc and doughs. Even comes with a book of little recipes 🙂
Overall would definitely recommend 🙂

I’ve had a home bakery going on 9 years. I’ve definitely collected an assortment of appliances since then! I started with an Oster stand mixer that was gifted to me. I soon upgraded to a 3.5qt KA mini as I needed a better whipping option for meringues and such. Shortly after, I went bigger with a KA 7qt pro, followed by the 7qt GE profile smart mixer, followed by a 5qt KA tilt head. (Sorry, the larger ones are way too heavy to include in the photos.)
These were tough acts to follow but the Dash was an easy choice. For my current need, I was really looking for something that was small enough to move around with a tiny footprint. But it needed to stand on its own as a disability limits my limb usage to 20% (no heavy lifting for me). Plus, they had it in pink! I did read a lot of reviews so I did know what to expect. The speed is pretty fast but depending on where the bowl lever is set can increase or decrease the spin action.
Although they state that the attachments are dishwasher safe, I didn’t want to chance it based on other reviews reporting rust or breakage. It’s also a bit annoying to clean the whisk attachment that has the rubber grommet (downside to not running it through a dishwasher). But a few extra seconds of brushing (automated dishwashing brush) got it clean.
As light as it is, it initially felt like a toy… like the counterpart to an easy bake oven. But it’s definitely not. Being super light, they include suction cups to help keep the mixer in place. Very helpful as it’s even challenging to press the buttons unless it’s suctioned to a sturdy surface. Button on top to release attachments, button on the right side to tilt the head back, and lever in front under the bowl to rotate the bowl placement.
Although it does include “dough hooks” it’s worthy to mention what Dash considers a use case for those attachments. The instructions do state that the whisk attachments be used to start the mixture, but also suggests switching to the dough hooks for thicker mixtures. This totally made a difference with thicker buttercreams and fillings.
For size reference, the Dash mixer is nestled in the middle of the Artisan mini and the classic Artisan. Welcome to the bakery family! 😅

Shipping time and everything included:
This mixer arrived in 5 days. It came with two dough mixer attachments and two whisk attachments and one stainless steel bowl.
Looks:
The color of the mixer which is why I bought it is beautiful. The chromish strip at the top and through makes it look good but also at the same time makes it looks like horrible quality.
Attachments removal:
The mixer has a big eject button at the top to remove the attachments with ease.
Bend the top back:
There is a button on the right of the device which you hold down to bend the top up as shown in the second stock pic.
The speeds presets:
There are 6 speeds on the top right where it seems most of the time that 4 itself is high enough. I have not once gotten into a situation where the attachments had stopped and/or jammed. They were always spinning when set to, no matter how sticky the substance.
Bottom lever:
There is also a lever at the bottom front of the mixer where you pull left and right moving the bottom enough to find the perfect rotation of the bowl. If the bowl for some reason does not spin you just move the lever around and it should work. It also helps when there is something that was not mixed at one side of the bowl. To move the lever you hold it down and slide to as far as you want to move the bowl. Then you stop pushing it down and slightly move it left and right until it locks into place. It’s very easy and no explanation was required to be honest.
Suction cups and wire length:
The length of the wire is about three feet long. There are five suction cups at the bottom which as soon as put down, allow the mixer to be in place making it hard to accidentally knock down. This has been useful in many occasions.
The bowl placement:
When placing the bowl onto the mixer you simple put it on the black surface and simply spin the bowl to the left while holding the black surface in place. Though one problem I have noticed with this is how easily it removes. I feel that it might spin off when it is set on a high preset speed but I have not once actually experienced it. I have used it on high settings and stopped it to see if the bowl had come loose but it stayed rotated far to the left to be considered locked. It seems safe and doesn’t seem like it will spin off but it looks, just by the eyes, like it is loose which just turns out to be how it looks. It’s not actually loose.
My thoughts:
Personally I felt it is worth it for the price this mixer is at right now. The speed settings make it well worth it. The slider seems to work fine and the best part is that it isn’t some cheap mixer that gets stuck when mixing some hard substance. Definitely worth it for its price.

It’s good but due to no cover sometimes it spills everywhere and the shape of the bowl do not allow to prepare lesser quantities it’s quite irritating
You can only prepare huge batches successfully small portions does not do well
