This product was difficult to assemble for me. It’s very easy to put components in the wrong order or direction.
Once it was assembled, it was fantastic. I ordered this to put my aquarium displays on, and it help a 50 gallon tank on the top,
A 10 gallon in the middle, and two 20 gallon tanks on the bottom. I didn’t have to mount it to the wall, it stood firmly on its own and did not give me any reason to be concerned about the safety of my aquariums.
I since have moved. This item was not difficult to load up or move. It required minimal deconstruction. Now it acts as my pantry/utility shelf and fits a good deal of items I otherwise would not have room for.

This rack is expensive but I will buy it again. It is very well make and will last for a long time. Very easy to assemble.. Take me one hour to get it together. Many youtube installation video that you can watch and follow. Don’t try to read the user manual. It is really bad with very little pictures.

Having recently built a bunch of other shelves for a new garage, I figured these shelves would be a walk in the park. It took me around twice the time to build these shelves vs. the cheaper shelves I had built earlier, even though the other shelves were taller (72″ vs. 48″).
I’m not a DeWalt fanboy, but these shelves are striking, so if you like DeWalt, they’ll make you happy.
Part of the build time you can chalk up to these being much sturdier than other shelves – almost ridiculously so. But I ran into two build issues that I would have given an extra star to avoid:
1. There are four U-bracket caps labelled “A” and “B” – there are supposed to be two of each. Instead, I got three “B” caps, and only one “A” cap. Thinking I screwed things up, I had to take apart the side I had already built, only to find that indeed, I had been shorted one “A” cap. In the end, I made it work by putting the extra “B” where “A” should have gone, but frankly, there is no good reason why they needed two different cap styles to begin with. It only increases the chance that they will be fulfilled incorrectly.
2. Compared with the previous (non-DeWalt) shelves I built, the instructions are *way* too wordy and complicated. A couple of well-placed diagrams (e.g. showing both correct and incorrect orientations) would be worth several hundred words each. It’s not so much that these shelves are hard to build, but the instructions make it seem way more complicated than it really is.
I ordered two sets of shelves – I’m hoping to at least avoid the U-bracket cap problem on the second build.
In summary:
Pros:
Built like a brick dunny. Really, really strong.
DeWalt, if you like that.
Cons:
Build instructions are more complicated than needed.
Some QC issues, complicated by unnecessary parts specialization.
Kind of expensive for 48″ shelves.
P.S. The second set of shelves built very quickly – I didn’t need to refer to the way-too-complicated instructions at all. As I mentioned, the build is easy – the instructions aren’t. Also, the second set had the requisite 2 x “A” caps and 2 x “B” caps, so that issue was avoided as well.

This is really a great rack and I was very excited to get it built. I’ve wanted one for a few years now but they’ve never been available in the UK
After carefully lifting it to the garage and carefully unpacking everything, I started to build it. One of the first things you need are the plastic covers, then I noticed one of them had snapped during transit. For the quality that the DeWalt name usually carries (and the £180 price tag) I was expecting perfection.
The DeWalt support site was crashing when attempting to reach out to their support (tried several times) and Amazon only offer a refund of the first 4 pound odd of the returns postage. I tried to call them but due to Covid they aren’t taking calls. I decided to build it and hope the broken plastic clip wouldn’t be noticeable, and it isn’t thankfully.
That’s the only reason this gets 4 stars rather than 5. It’s not actually a DeWalt product, just branded as. But still, apart from the cheap plastic covers, it’s brilliant. Very sturdy and extremely strong.
Took about 40 minutes to build and the instructions were fine. Plenty of YouTube videos out there if you get really stuck.
I would recommend it, just watch out for that cheap plastic (also been mentioned in another review too, but all his were broken. Luckily, I had only 1 broken one).
If anyone from DeWalt reads this, please send a spare!

Nice and heavy duty, easy to assemble and pleasing to the eye. No shelf sagging with these. I expect these to put last me. Not cheap, but you will like the quality, and buy another one. The size worked great for my solar generators and extra batteries with about 300 lbs placed on each shelf, no problems.

I’ve got 4 of these now. They are great. It’s a shame the price has gone up as I’d like 2 more, and they always seem to be put of stock.
Great product

The directions suck. Easier and faster just to figure out how to put together by youreslf. Nice shelves. Sturdy. The screws are a little cheap so watch not to strip heads. Consider buying a drawer unit for these. Also very sturdy and easy to assemble.

Smaller than you think looking at photos online, but a decent size. Quality appears to be decent, assembly certainly isn’t challenging, although different in some ways from many other units I have assembled over the years. MUST start with assembly of the two outside uprights first as you need to screw those with bolts provided. Also, an Allen head bit for a screw gun is included. There are multiple attachments and/or add one offered apparently, to which I will likely be getting as I am able.

i have had three of these shelves before, great product, but the two i have just had, had four of the six shelves damaged on the corners, could not return as i needed the products now, i could not see how the corner where damaged as the boxes where not damaged, must have left the factory in this condition.

Got 3 of these at an awesome price…made a couple shelves and a worktop connected together. If you can get these on a sub $200 sale go for it! I would buy again.
