**Update April 2018** This unit failed after 2.5 years of intermittent use. The print head failed and no cleaning or contrast changing could help. The warranty on my unit was 2 years, but I notice now the warranty is only one year. I’d guess they had too many of them fail. So if you understand this thing won’t last a long time and plan to replace it periodically, it’s still a good deal. Just wish things could be made more durable. None of my Dymo tape embossers has ever failed, but those are out of fashion…

This kit is a much better deal than the standalone labelmaker itself. The kit includes the LM210D itself, a case, a set of batteries, a wall transformer, a short (10′) roll of 1/2″ black on white tape, and a standard (23′) roll of 3/8″ black on yellow tape. The zippered case holds everything in a nice little package.
The unit takes Dymo or compatible D1 cartridges up to 1/2″ in width. I’ve used several non-Dymo brands and have had no problems. The split-back tape is very handy. Here’s one way to easily peel and apply them:
1. From the end of the label, peel off one side almost to the start, but leave it hanging.
2. Turn around the label, and peel off the other side completely.
3. Now the label is in position that your right middle finger can nab it while your left hand pulls the remaining strip off, and you’re left holding the label in the proper position to apply.
The 1/4″ tape is very small indeed and is more finicky to deal with than the 3/8″ or 1/2″ widths. The typeface with 1/4″ tape is also quite small.
Once you read the directions and use it a few times, the operation is very simple and you can crank out labels like nobody’s business.
One complaint (that seems to be common amongst many reviewers) is the brightness of the display screen. It is not bright at all, and you may have to turn it or move to see it clearly. Annoying but not show-stopping.
I’ve not used any of the permanent/outdoor label tapes so I don’t know about durability in bad weather. The standard tape labels can be removed from most things using the edge of a razor blade, with no residue left behind. The label cannot be re-used, however.
The power to the unit shuts off automatically after 2 minutes of idle time. I find this useful; others may not feel the same. It’s trivial to power back on and resume what you were doing.
All in all, I’m pretty happy with this for labelling stuff around the house and workshop. It seems like a nice compromise between a true high-end labelmaker which can do everything but dance the polka (at a corresponding cost) and a low-end piece of junk.

Im quite impressed. it is very easy to use, instructions are clear, it does not have as many symbols as others do.. but enough to make a handy tool. After reading and searching for awhile, I chose this one. Im very impressed by the quality of the labels…This kit is perfect and the fact that it comes with the adaptor in addition to the batteries is a plus. Im planning to buy several as xmas presents. the labels were so perfect my guests taught the front and rear labels i placed in my range burner dials were factory labels. great buy so far

Easy to use! Not much waste, but no it won’t put words millimeters from each other. If you want less waste, enter several words and print them all at once. Image shows how much is on each side of the word. Came with white and yellow tape.

It is very simple to use. The tape is inexpensive to replace with a nice travel case. The screen is hard to read in certain lighting. But other than that my husband and I are loving this!!! We are labeling everything in our pantry and laundry room so far. Next is the garage before we hit the shed.

I needed to get a label made quick to put onto a stapler so I could put the stapler in a jello mold in the fridge to set before my son got back into town (Office fans know what i’m talking about). I thought getting the label maker set up would be a lengthy process but it was so quick and easy. Snap the cartridge in, turn it on and get going. Love the case too. Good sturdy product, clear easy to read labels, would recommend.

Item arrived in good order and works as it should. There is no proper manual with it and you have to go to the makers website to print off the instructions to take advantage of all the various features hence the four star rating. I have a number of large plastic bins that hold tools and materials and my first job was to label all of them for their contents. The machine worked as it should.

Want a great deal on a label-maker then pick yourself up on of these Dymo printers. It’s so simple you don’t have to read the instructions (I did after I used it just to make sure I wasn’t missing anything (and I wasn’t)). The case is an extra bonus and so is the adapter. FYI- The picture shows Duracell batteries but they came with GP brand. Not that I care. The unit feels solid and the keys have a nice touch. The menus are super easy to follow, making the entire process a breeze. The labels look good and the font sizes make for easy reading. At work we have a hand held label-maker that cost many times the price of this one and it has a few more features but for the money I’ll take this one any day.

This printer is a good size and comes with accessories that many charge extra for. Includes the batteries, 2 rolls of labels and a AC power converter. I like the portability possible with the batteries, although I like even more that you don’t need to put the batteries in and it can run on AC alone. Our needs are that in a project, we use it a lot, and then don’t for usually a long time. Those are the times the batteries can corrode or possibly slowly drain. Having it plugged in for the project and then put in the case for safe storage without the concern of leaking or replacing the batteries is a big plus to me. It has many options for font and borders which are nice options.
This model does NOT have availability to attach to the computer or phone with cable or bluetooth as some do, however that is not an option I miss. This is a good and complete stand alone labelling system with easy to understand and read menu options – which is exactly what I wanted.
