Me –
When this system works, it works well. I’ve purchase this device 4 times in 4 years. One device was sent back because it didn’t function (that happens, I don’t have an issue with that). Two have each lasted two years, with the same flaw brining forth their demise. Very consistently, after about 20 months, water starts entering the upper mechanical/electrical area. You can religiously empty the leakage from the upper electrical area, but soon the electrical system starts to fail due to excessive moisture. This is not just condensation, but very large amounts of water. I now always place the unit in a container to catch the leakage – which will undoubtedly occur over time. I have also tried to repair each unit when it has stated leaking profusely and the electronics are failing – I haven’t been successful, but I’m no mechanical genius, so maybe others would be able to effectively fix this ongoing problem.
The 4th purchase was today. Am I just stupid? A glutton for punishment? Possibly.
I do feel like this is the best product of its kind when it is functioning, but you can do the math. Are you willing to spend $100 a year to have this function in your artificial/natural environment? I’m not sure I will purchase another unless ExoTerra makes a significant change to address what is probably a fairly simple fix. My guess is that they don’t have much competition, so they don’t have much motivation.

So far I am happy with the purchase. It does a good job of misting my chameleon’s enclosure. Only issues I have are as follows:
1) the indicator lights for setting the duration and cycle length are so freaking bright. Literally blindingly bright, you can’t even read the number next to the little indicator lights because they are so bright. They are so bright that they illuminate my entire room at night. If I wanted a night light I would have bought one. It may not bother some people but for me it is a serious design flaw. There is no reason or benefit to having those lights so freaking bright.
2) The settings only allow of setting the cycle period. So you can set it to go off every 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 hours. I don’t want it misting the enclosure during the night. A feature that would add value to this product would be a setting that turned off the cycle during the night. The way it is: I have it plugged in to the timer switch for my lights. So it will shut off at night with the lights, but I have to set it each morning, which is not suitable for times when I am out of town for more then a day 🙁
Besides that, it is a great way to provide water for my chameleon and keep the plants healthy and humidity up.

This misting system is worth its weight in gold. Definitely worth the money. Saves soooo much time not having to manually walk around and spray mist all of your enclosures. Especially when you keep a larger number of reptiles. I currently run two of these units. Will definitely be adding more in the near future.

Bought this in April 2024. Stopped working. Makes sound like it’s pumping but won’t spray. Checked the nozzles all still working when blowing air through tubing. Now flashes a blue light when on. Can’t get a hold of anyone to help me fix it. Do not buy!
