We are plagued with big black walnuts, hundreds if not thousands! The shell is so hard if you hit them with mower blades you wreck them. This tool is so amazing, easiest way to pick them up ever. They are always concentrated under the trees, you roll this over and it picks up the nuts so easily. I have a garbage can or large bucket to empty the basket and then it’s back to the nuts. We have 17 big trees so lots of nuts and large too.
My only concern is that it is not so easy pushing the lever to empty the basket but it’s still quite new and it may loosen up some. The price is a steal!! If you have a fruit tree that dumps on the ground this could pick up apples, pears, etc. It comes in different sizes, we got the larger one and it works perfectly. Even in the fallen leaves it picks up well.
The inventor should get the noble prize for most helpful tool. They have my vote for sure!!

I have multiple walnut trees on my property line and every year the process of picking up those dang things make me crazy. I have to mow out in that area and so it’s a must that they get picked up each week. This device rolls easily and it truly is an amazing help to conquering this chore.

Using the weasel to pick up walnuts, it worked very very well. It picked up walnuts of every size with the first pass and held a lot before needing to be emptied. The handle was comfortable and made of a heavier grade of metal, didn’t flex at all. The tines were also a heavier grade (but still flexible) so they didn’t allow walnuts to fall back out when rolling. Really speeds up walnut pickup (I have 5 trees in my yard). I would have liked to have an adjustable length handle (not really important), and more importantly, the emptying process is awkward, requires a larger-mouth receptacle, and could be difficult for someone with less hand- or arm-
strength.

This nut gatherer is a great product. The large size is perfect for picking up black walnuts. I do have a lot of them in my yard so I have to empty the cage frequently, but it still makes picking them up much faster and eliminates bending over. It seems quite sturdy. I just ordered a second one. I do sometimes get my glove caught in the mechanism when emptying the cage. If I weren’t wearing gloves I think it would be pinching my finger instead, so I strongly encourage wearing gardening gloves when using the nut gatherer.

I was preparing myself to get let down because a lot of the stuff I’ve bought on Amazon has not lived up to its description. However, this one absolutely did!
I have an apple tree 🌳 🍏🍎 that drops about 100 no joke 100 apples a DAY! This thing is an absolute life and back saver! Great buy! The only thing I wish was better is the release to empty the basket is stiff/hard. And in the middle if it were at the top and more of a squeeze instead of a push that would be great with a longer pole.

This is not only an excellent product it is perfect. It is made with heavy duty materials however still light and very effective. I have black walnuts that range from golf ball to tennis ball size this picks them up with ease. As Black walnut is poisons to dogs I use to go out every day bending over picking up buckets of nuts now I can quickly get them up without all the back breaking bending!
This is an excellent tool if you actually get to harvest nuts. I purchased the large size it does an excellent job with the weight of the heavy walnuts.

Let me start by saying I very rarely leave reviews. And when I do, they are usually negative… BUT. I think I have found the absolute best garden/yard tool since the hand plow. This thing is great, just simply great. It does exactly what you think it will do, and it does it well. It picks up full size black walnuts with absolute ease. And empties them just as easy. Please look at the videos I’ve attached and see for yourself. I wish I could give it more stars. Seriously. No more breaking my back picking up or tripping over black walnuts. This super simple machine has won me over, and I will tell EVERYONE I know that has a walnut/hickory tree that they need to invest in one of these. I know there are other brands out there and I can’t speak for them, but I chose this one from Garden Weasel and it works… Kudos.

Garden Weasel Nut Gatherer – Large Cage. This was purchased for an 80+ female to assist in picking up (alot of) falling apples. She loves it, works easily and limited bending down is needed. More than well worth it. Size is perfect. Well made. Perfect gift. Definitely would buy again!
