First look really blew me away but upon further inspection it lacked in very important things. Let’s break it down to pros and cons.
    Pro: amazing look
Cushioning materials look like they’re gonna last
The burlap material really feels nice and high quality

Cons: I don’t know if they did a proper quality check because the one I got has its cushion tearing off of the case.
And the whole case doesn’t line up when closing it so you have to reopen and close it so that it lines up altogether.
There’s also many loose threads around the case when I got it. Mind you I am writing this material at the first hour that I have received it.

Overall looks really nice but needs better quality check before shipping the item out to the customers..

I bought a Gretsch g9220 resonator a month ago and needed a case for it. My big worry was matching the g9220 size with the case size. I researched guitar cases for a couple of weeks on Amazon, at online music stores, in music stores, in magazine reviews, etc. Part of the criteria was to keep it around $100.00.
I narrowed it down to three, and all were great cases. All my guitar cases have been black, and I’m not into flash for its own sake, but I did like this one due to its retro look.
The thing I’ve learned about reviews of guitar/resonator cases is the inconsistency of info being put out. For all three cases, reviewers stated the case would fit a Gretsch 9220, WHILE other reviewers stated they would not fit it. ???WTH???
I’ve owned a Guild D25 for more than 35 yrs, so I also began to use it – i.e., buying a new case for it – as a variable during the search. That helped delete some of the resonator case reviews I read and provided a better sense of whether a case would or should fit the 9220.
Anyway, I ordered the Gator Jouneyman GW-JM and I kept my figures crossed about the fit.
It was delivered 3 days ago and it’s a very, very nice fit. It is a case designed to fit a number of different resonator guitars, so take that into account when looking for a case for your resonator.
But, I will say that if you are looking for a case to fit your Gretsch g9220 resonator, I highly recommend this case. It holds the 9220 securely, and it fits the smaller 12 fret neck. I like this case, and will update further pro and cons in the future,
The only weird thing about this, however, is that the price for the case was $82.00 when I bought it.

March 2, 2021 – Update. This case is still going strong. No problems with it, keeps the resonator where it’s supposed to be, and I’ve nothing but praise for it. If the Gator Co needs a nifty little motto, I just want everyone to know I said it first, I think. Okay, here it is…”Get a Gator, you won’t go wrong.”

I ordered this with a little bit of hesitation after reading about other cases that weren’t large enough for some mandolins. This fit my A-Style Eastman perfectly and I’m sure that it would fit a similarly sized F-Style as well as there is room for the scroll and the point. I love the look of the burlap fabric – very clean appearance. The closures work well and hold the case tight. The only drawback I would mention is the lock. It seems like the cheap trunk lock that I used to pick with a paperclip as a kid. This isn’t a concern for me as I don’t foresee traveling with my mandolin often and certainly don’t believe that a rogue airport employee is going to break into my case.

EDIT: I tried to fit my Rogue A100 and it was too large for this case. That being said, cases are meant to be snug to protect the instrument from movement. It fits my Eastman perfectly…I don’t really need a case for a $60 Rogue anyway.

Got this for a reduced price and didn’t really know what to expect. It fits my 1937 Dobro 14 fret perfectly though. It’s a plywood fairly standard hard case covered in very pale polyester/ linen faux tweed type material. There are one or two quality control issues but nothing major. The retaining strap is twisted and some the finishing on the trim is a bit dubious. I’m glad l didn’t pay full price. Because it is so bright looking l’ve applied some clear satin furniture laquer which not only makes it a a bit waterproof but makes it look aged in keeping with my 84 years old guitar. All in all, not the most practical purchase but it definitely looks the part now.

This is a beautiful case. Seemingly well made with quality materials. It fit my German-made Hofler well, albeit a little snug around the body. But to be fair, my resonator is 14” in diameter exactly and I read that it measured either 14” or 14.25” on the interior. I’m guessing it’s probably closer to 14.25”-14.5” without the thick padding — so probably right around 14” with it. But even so, it still fits in fine and if nothing else, will at least have less room to move around. I read someone’s review about the handle being slightly off center. I was surprised when it first arrived how much it was off, but with my resonator banjo inside, it’s weighted closer to center so carries like regular. Overall solid case, good quality, and sharp looks for a decent price. We’ll see how it holds up after a few months. With the Gator name, I’m pretty sure it will last.

    ケースとしての機能は果たせそうでデザインも気に入っています。
    が、表面の布貼りがところどころ浮いていたり雑な仕上げで残念です。
    まあ、値段なりといったところです。
