This company only allows for two weeks for a return. It took me two weeks to get the item installed once it was installed the dishwasher would not drain and I had to call GE warranty repair.

I did misplace a piece but it was only $35.98 to replace thankfully because who knows when that will happen again.

I ordered this unit after contemplating purchasing one of those newer counter-top models which looked kinda cool but rather insubstantial for the often grimy job of cleaning dirty dishes and flatware!
This GE slim unit looks well made and seems solid enuf after several months of light but regular use.
It also has a stainless steel interior as well.
(Btw, after experimenting w/ different kinds of liquid dishwasher detergents I finally settled on using the premesured pods which I simply toss in the bottom just prior to using. The dishes come out spotless and squeaky clean every time.)
I also use the shortest and most basic clean and rinse cycle as well, and the dishes as I said are as clean as I ever have seen any dishes!
Another quick note, I also no longer rinse the dishes before placing them in the rack. I do scrape any large remaining scraps of food, gravy, crumbs etc. but leave the remaining residue for the washer as this coating actually allows the dish detergents to adhere to the surface of the dish even better than if they had been rinsed prior to running a wash cycle. This both saves water and time but also increases the effectiveness of the washing machine process as well.
Anyway, it’s also a doubly useful item in my very compact little log-cabin kitchen, because w/ the addition of a large cutting board on top it’s now also a movable food prep island as well.
I decided on getting a dishwasher in the first place because despite not really minding do the dishes by hand I just never felt that with the maximum amount of hot water even my rubber-gloved hands could tolerate it was still not sufficiently hot enuf to sterilize the dirty dishes well enuf for my liking!
So yes this is a ringing endorsement, so far with absolutely no downsides that I can as yet identify!
If you have a small kitchen like mine where a built-in dishwasher is simply impractical and unwanted yet like me you want the through dish cleaning and sterilization that only happens with very hot water, then this is a very good choice in my opinion!

I absolutely love this little workhorse. This unit even has a built-in garbage disposal, which is the reason why I chose this over a different brand (Danby). Previously I had had a Danny, and in comparison, the GE is head and shoulders above in quality, and easy to operate, quiet machine and just gets the dishes super clean. I only wish they had the 18 inch model in a built in option, as I am looking for a built-in for another project. Highly recommend this unit! We have had zero problems with it, I run a load just about every day. I wonder if other reviewer who is mentioning a leak it’s just overloading the soap?

Keep looking. This is the worst designed appliance I’ve ever owned. It has leaked from the first use and now, extended warranty and 1.5 years later (and 10 repair attempts) it’s still leaking, doesn’t clean well and has been designated as unrepairable. GE couldn’t care less. They will blow you off and wait you out until the warranty expires, then basically tell you to piss off. They should have replaced this after the 2nd pump, motor and water inlets were installed. If you’re smart, you’ll find another brand to purchase.

Item arrived packaged pristinely, unfortunately, the unit has no power. Multiple outlets have been tried and tested for voltage and the unit will not power on. Extremely disappointed as a lot of money was spent on an appliance, we waited three weeks for, to not have it work directly out of the box. Have yet to hear back from seller regarding resolution but I sincerely hope returning the unit is not a nightmare and we receive a full refund.
