These strings (to my ears) have the perfect balance between 92/8s and 80/20 although they are nickel/iron. They have the bass and sweetness of PB strings and the brightness of 80/20 Bronze. They also last longer than typical uncoated strings and if you want more volume, this string will bring it. Very loud set!

Best nickel acoustic string out there.

First – seller got this shipped to me promptly. Thanks for that. Next – I’ve been using the ghs white bronze acoustic light (12-54) and been very happy with them. However, when turning down to Open F tuning (C-F-C-F-A-C), the fret buzz was bugging me. I gave it several months to see if it would go away with the neck adjusting (silly me). Using these heavier strings solved the problem right away. Sound a bit “bassier” than the lights. After a few days, my ear acclimates and I just enjoy the sound. The heavier strings are harder to bend than the lights, but that’s just a matter of practice and developing more strength in time.

These are one of my favorite all-around sets for archtop guitars equipped with a magnetic pickup. They have excellent acoustic response, and at the same time they have the proper magnetic qualities for use with a magnetic pickup. You get full, bright acoustic response you’re expect from bronze strings, plus excellent response form the pickup. If they have any fault, it’s that they’re a bit too bright played acoustically, at least for solo work, but they really cut through well in a combo setting.

If you are trying to but white bronze medium acoustic strings, don’t order these! They will keep sending light electric.
