The value of this guitar is about twice what I paid for it. It has great sound and I love the look and feel. It did not arrive set up because I called the manufacturer to ship it that way. So I took it to a luthier once it arrived. It sounds like a dream!
I use it for light playing either at home or small gatherings.

I never really leave harsh reviews. This guitar was so poorly set up it was unplayable. The action is very low…..so low that the first 3 strings and the low E buzzed when played open. But I was still determined to get it to work. I restrung with a taller saddle to raise the action. Played a few open chords ant it was awesome…..then played a few notes on the high e string and noticed that if I fretted on 1 to 3 it was the same note. It’s not the most expensive guitar but I expected a whole lot more out of guild. Great satin finish tough. Would look nice hanging on my wall. And lastly, I ordered a new guitar and this was not new. No retail tag, no wrap and nothing on the pickguard. New guitars always have something that shows it’s a new item.

I wanted a second guitar to tune in DADGAD. I have a 30 year old Guild dreadnought which I love and thought (even after listening to the video demonstration on the Guild website) that this would be good. Well it sounded very weak in the bass and the strings are so low that they buzz with more than a soft touch on the pick. Hence the ad copy saying it’s good for “fingerpicking and light strumming”. I pick pretty hard on my dreadnought I guess. The worst thing though was a high fret up in the cutaway zone that would just zzzzzt against the string fretted directly below, and be relatively OK once you got above it. I’d put that as a mfg defect. I went to the local guitar shop and tried a couple guitars until I found one that I liked while playing it. Not sure I will buy any guitar in the future without playing it.

This piece of garbage arrived in the following condition: 1) I ordered a non-cutaway: Amazon chimps sent a CUTAWAY. 2) Not set up in the least: frets not filed and CUT the SKIN on my hand. 3) literally UNPLAYABLE as no one had dressed the fingerboard or filed down the frets. On a G chord in first position, UNPLAYABLE – ONLY BUZZZZ. Laughable! 4) Ad – IN PRINT – Said a GIG BAG was INCLUDED: DIDN’T SEND IT. Company had the GAUL to ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT WHAT IS IN P R I N T like they think I’m an idiot (insulting)… 5) wood was cheap and ugly (poor little mongrel guitar – it’s not YOUR fault).

AS opposed to the one I bought at the same time from Chicago Music Exchange: I ordered a Maple Junior Jumbo. These lovely people sent it 1) IN THE NICE advertised gig bag 2) Beautifully and responsibly set up – with the initials of the guy who did the work 3) It is GORGEOUS and was PLAYABLE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. It’s just a little travel guitar, but for my $500 or so, I certainly the FREAK elect them to WORK. Chicago Music Exchange DID and beautifully: Amazon’s DID NOT AND WAS/IS INEXCUSABLE!

SO I CALLED CHICAGO MUSIC IMMEDIATELY TO COMPLIMENT THEM. I WILL DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. BUT NOT AMAZON….

BE VERY CAREFUL: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THAT’S LISTED AS FULFILLED BY AMAZON unless its so simple that primates could do it.
