Coffee on bold mode makes great tasting coffee. The negatives: The display is awful and hard to read. I would prefer something better than black text on a gray background. I have to wear glasses to adjust anything or to read the time. Also, when you are brewing and you want to grab a cup before the brew cycle is done, it tends to run on a bit too long and spills coffee onto the warmer and sometimes it even splashes onto my countertop white stove which I find annoying. For the price it works though. Good coffee and brews pretty quickly, even in bold mode.

We’ve been Mr. Coffee loyalists for years, but the last one we ordered did not have an auto shutoff feature. That’s a safety feature we require. So Mr. Coffee was returned and a Hamilton Beach was ordered. It was the same price, so we didn’t quite know what to expect. Surprise surprise — it’s a step up product! Handsome design, all the necessary features, and great coffee!

I like that I could get a white coffee maker, as my other small appliances are white. it is getting harder to fund white ones. The only thing that I was not expecting is the size of the coffee maker itself. It was a little bigger than I expected,, so it doesn’t fit on my counter as well as my old one. It does make a GREAT cup of coffee first thing in the morning.

My water is hard on coffee makers as well as I am due to the amount of use it gets, this one is easy to fill, way easier to clean and looks like it is made to last, very happy so far, carafe does not drip all over like some brands so not as many spills

I bought this item after being frustrated with higher priced models, specifically Cuisinart. This also had very good pro reviews.
Have it now for 2 months and I am quite satisfied. It makes a very good cup of coffee and is very easy to use with simple controls. In particular the water reservoir is very wide and easy to fill. So far the hot plate has stayed perfect and not showing the wear that the Cuisinart did almost immediately. The brew time is pretty standard and it is quiet. It doesn’t have a beep to tell you it’s ready, but, that is a budget friendly thing.

1-uses a basket type filter and cone shaped supposedly make a tastier cup
2-not a big fan of the carafe. The lid remains attached and it is more difficult to clean. Plus I have complete faith that this lid will quickly find a way to break off either by user error or typical cheap manufacture.
But I paid $40 for it and overall this is a very good buy

Not sure where the good reviews come from. This is not one. I have never had any problem with any of my Hamilton Beach products. However, this coffeemaker has a major design flaw. The water sprays into the coffee filter basket very forcefully and therefore sprays coffee and coffee grounds around leaving a big mess inside the water reservoir as well as coffee grounds ending up in the actual brewed coffee. It also leaves water from a crap load of condensation in the water reservoir which ultimately will create mildew. Maybe the good reviews are due to a black coffee maker and it’s not noticable. But I purchased the white model and it looks disgustingly dirty without wiping the inside constantly. I am so very disappointed with the current quality of this Hamilton Beach product. I am unable to return the item because I threw out the original manufacturer packaging and Amazon will not except return without it. So here I am without a refund and without a good cup of coffee. Please do not buy this product unless you want to eat coffee grounds for breakfast

I bought this to make coffee at my business. Horrible. Spend the extra money and get a better machine. This is SOOOOOOO slow to make a pot. 30 minutes on average. Sometimes 45 minutes And the coffee comes out tasting horrible. I’ve tasted 3 day old coffee and it tasted better than what came out of this thing. Then there is the issue with it leaking all over and burning on the element. Add in the coffee maker has an arm that you have to move to take out the basket to clean. Just a poorly designed machine .

I bought this for our guest apartment on the advice of a friend who said we needed an auto turn off model. It was apparent especially when someone forgot to unplug or turn off the first one we had and the whole house started to smell of burnt coffee. This works great. It’s simple to use, just the filter, coffee grounds, add water in the well type and you can make up to 12 cups. The buttons are self explanatory and there is a 2 hour auto shut off. No more burnt coffee smell. It takes a bit of cleaning in the filter area after you remove the ground cup, but that’s just me, I hate the stains and loose grounds in the tiny areas. Ours is not used daily so I like to keep it clean.
