Finally opened this on weekend, as we keep on hand to insure we don’t run out. Found small brown worms/grubs in the food and wife immediately threw it in the garage. Luckily we had another bag of food as we require to address skin sensitivity with one of our dogs.
I unfortunately did not get pictures as wife did not want worms in the house once discovered. Hopefully this is a one time problem as too expensive to happen again.

Purchased because of price and brand name. I feel like with the amount of dog mess I have to pick up, there must be a lot that is not being absorbed as nutrition. This was not a repeat purchase for us.

Cheaper than at the vet or at the supply store for good quality kibbles. About the same nutrition % he was getting with Royal Canin “digestive large breed”.
Also bought this product because the bloodhound on the bag is +/- same breed as my dog.
The dog likes everything anyhow; most important is that the food doesn’t give him upset stomachs/diarrheas.
Update 2012-11-28: Just ordered a new large bag 13.6kg / 30# bag = delivery said in 2 weeks from now even with “amazon-prime” = UNACEPTABLE!!!

Each dog is different; for years, I gave my English bulldog a special food for his breed, but in the second year, he started having allergies. Since the vet recommended this food, my dog has had no stomach issues, and his coat looks great and healthy.

Back when my dog (4 1/2 yr old, 66 lb Bernedoodle) was a pup, he went to the vet regularly and she always recommended this food especially because he has a very sensitive stomach. Throughout his life he has tried so many but we always end up with this one because it’s the only one he’ll eat consistently without hurting his belly. We went from the puppy sensitive one to this one now that he is older. He runs right to his bowl when I feed him. Yes it’s pricey, but the bag usually lasts about a month (I feed him 1 1/2 cups, twice a day) and it’s worth the quality. He seems to LOVE the taste and have more energy after eating.

I will say that there were a couple years where money was tight and I found a great alternative for times like that. It’s the Chicken and Wild Rice at Costco from $40-$50. He would eat it and it not hurt his belly and it would last a month and a half, but it wasn’t his first choice. Anytime I am making consistent money, I’ll always buy him the Hills Science Diet.

Point is, most dogs LOVE IT! My roommate feeds her dogs this brand too and they all run to their bowls. Yum and nutritious!

I’ve tried lots of different varieties of food, but my big boys have sensitive stomachs and this the food they run to when given a choice! No allergic reactions to this! It’s relatively expensive, but worth it.

I have been buying this dog food for over a year now. I have an Irish setter that’s about 45 lbs. The 30 lb bag lasts about 2-3 months depending on how much the dog is eating. I feed her twice a day about 2 cups. The little food pieces are easy for my dog to eat and she’s able to chew it better than the adult dog food pieces. I ordered this food and it was delivered mid day the next day, it was great!
