These inside-out trackers are incredible; there’s no need for base stations anymore. The tracking performance is pretty good too.

The only thing that bothers me is the setup process—it could be simpler. I hope they can improve that.

    Overall, I love these trackers!

The Trackers require a ridiculous amount of light to function. The documentation says ‘lighting should be comfortable enough to read a book in’, this is not really true. While I lack the overhead light in my room, my lighting is more that comfortable for reading typically, but even with the addition of several lights the trackers still complain of not being able to see. Any shadow, any dim patch, or conversely too bright an individual light will cause the trackers to be unable to map the area.

My Quest 3, 2, and Rift S have managed to track with little more than a strip of LED mood lights. The Vive ultimate trackers seem to require borderline studio lighting to function, which is an issue given how most people are going to be picking up full body trackers like these for social VR experiences, which tend to happen in the evenings. For the two hours or so that I had these functioning properly, the tracking was actually extremely good. It’s just a shame the optical cameras are so bad that I was never quite able to get them to track again.

If you’ve got a very well lit, very open room, you will have no trouble with these. If you’re like the rest of us, this is a purchase that will burn you. Steer clear.

  5. This was my 1st laptop and I love it. I recommend this PC if you’re just getting into PC gaming. You can play most games what great graphics however it doesn’t run VR well. Happy foe this PC to be me 1st. Now up grading to more high-end PCS

These Vive trackers are basically the same quality as the 3.0’s they work amazingly and I never have an issue that recalibrateing won’t fix. These use cameras and a map of your room to work. No base stations needed. Set up is very easy. You simply put the dongle(the USB thing given in package) into your PC. You then install the vive software on your computer. You’ll need to look it up and get it from them. Then you’ll need to get into their Discord and sign up for the beta program to use non vive headsets. And simply follow the video they provided.

I am not the smartest and this is my first experience with trackers and software like this. So if I can get it to run and figure it out by myself. Then anyone can. Great product and will only get better from here.

Officially approved by a nerd who uses VR too much.

I have checking my SSID channels, interference on 2.4/5.0 GHz, completely emptied a 12×13 foot room except for a desktop computer on the floor and monitor. Scanned with a infrared camera for reflective surfaces. Put up a unique fuzzy pattern blanket on each of the four blank walls and these will not keep tracking at all. I’ve reset and scanned the rooms with a tripod as slowly as possible to get a good 3d image of the play space. At no time will these work as advertised. constantly disconnect and lose tracking, take an insane amount of time to sync and if you haven’t watched how to set these up online it’s not very easy or straight forward if you use a different VR headset. When I contacted support they asked me to rescan the room but if you don’t respond fast enough on the chat they disconnect. laughable. Do not buy this product.

Been using with Quest Pro for a few days on the beta. Setup is complex but VIVE said they’re working on it before they leave beta. But once you get it up and running, it’s REALLY good. I was able to use my existing tracker straps with these.

This product is pushed using “AI” as it’s market strategy, but the fact is. THERE IS NO AI.
This is your run of the mill Camera based Tracking with a god awful need for light, so bad that if your room isn’t lit up like a Neon light-house, then you ARE NOT going to get ANY tracking AT ALL.

Absolutely NOT worth the investment AT ALL. Go get SlimeVR instead, Atleast it works IN THE DARK. Like these should have.

HTC, get your crap together, and get off the AI Bandwagon.

I always wanted full body tracking but it was wayy to expensive. This was a great Alternative opinion. Although I have a quest 3 (PCVR)it did a great job tracking my movements. Good for dancing, Exercise ect. Keep in mind that you NEED a Decent size area and a well light room to use. this is product might be great but has some problems with sitting or it might lose tracking but over all I give it 7.5/10

The tracking is great. I fully support inside out and camera tracking over base stations with that said PCVR is in beta as of writing this and HTC made getting it setup convoluted as possible. It felt like running an annoying NPC side quest in an RPG. …. Join their discord, find links and jump through hoops in discord, watch video to get secret code like some treasure hunt, put in secret code after watching video to enable beta, download vive software and enable all that crap if you’re lucky you’ve got about another hours worth of scanning and glitchy calibrating and firmware updating and battery charging and dongle fixing to be setup……. Only true games and enthusiasts will complete this quest as it’s the most un-user-friendly experience opposed to just TURNING IT ON IN SETTINS WITH A TOGGLE COMON HTC WTF BRUH LOL….. with all of that said and done… I fully support the tech and the tracking is excellent. As a content creator I really appreciate them developing this great for dancing and mocap… I’m sure all the beta pcvr stuff will be made more user friendly but as of right now ugh… also I’m so impressed with the trackers and their over all quality / concept I’ll be looking into upgrading my headset to a xr elite one day but….. that’ll be awhile I’m a low wage working kek and can’t afford it after the trackers. Hahaha.
