I recently tore my MCL and PCL. I use this device multiple times every day. It’s made the recovery process so much easier. It was also covered by my FSA spending so that definitely helped. Otherwise it’s a little pricey, but it’s the best product out there. Battery life is a little short, but unless you plan on using it three or four times in a row without a recharge, it’s enough to get the job done between charges. It also works while plugged in.

It gets cool and cold haven’t tried the warm and hot features. Did have a little trouble with the 2part cord. It came apart with out me realizing. Charging wasn’t working, then I replugged in the cord. I thought it would have more settings have only found 3 so far. Probably a me issue. Needed extensions on belts (and I have pretty small legs. )
Not a bad fit, comfortable.

2-weeks ago I had knee replacement surgery. Got this product to help me with the cooling therapy. Love it. The only bad thing and why such a low review – the seller mailed me used unit. Someone else had this unit before. 🙁 I am stuck with the unit since I am recovering, but not cool to pay for brand new unit and get used. So before you buy, order the unit and make sure the seller did not send you an old used unit for the price of brand new one. But the product is awesome. If you can, find another seller.

….and that’s – get hot and cold. Contrast hydrotherapy is a simple yet effective way to speed up healing and improve circulation to the affected area. The problem is, it’s a nuisance to apply a heating pad, then a cold pack, then a heating pad, etc. This unit does it for you, thus making it much more likely that you’ll actually do it. It gets cold but I wish it got a bit colder. It gets very hot, hotter than I need (but it’s adjustable, so not a problem)
The quality is very good, it’s easy to use, and the app is simple.
I’m very happy with it. I use mine everyday and it’s great.

This is a rechargeable heat and ice therapy device that wraps around the knee with 3 adjustable Velcro straps.
It works by a rechargeable battery as well as being plugged in.
It is easier to use the Bluetooth Controls through the app, than it does manually.
The battery is at the top of the device. It does get warm during use, but imperceptible on the knee.
There are 5 fans that work on cooling a pad on the backside of the unit. It definitely gets ice cold to me. The heat is also quite warm to hot. On the hot setting, it does get quite hot to the point of being uncomfortable but it works extremely well. The beauty is that I can adjust the temperature to my level of comfort.
You have the option for heat, cold or combination treatment.
I personally like the cold function over heat. During the cold therapy the sound is a very low, like a desktop fan on the lowest setting.
The straps adjust easily and there are additional straps for larger sized individuals.
I find the item is high effective. It can work on other body parts but won’t stay on the area like it was designed for the knee but it should work on the ankle or foot, just fine.
Price is high but there is nothing made quite like this. I find this to be very versatile. Its weight is good enough for travel. It is more versatile than my Ice machine.
Definitely recommend it.
Update: Nov 2023
I have taken it on a trip to Iceland. It is so nice to have something portable that can do the modalities it does. Now I don’t have to worry about being away from things I used to ease my symptoms, no matter where I travel.
Not only can I use this for my knee, but I have used it on my lower back, ankle, and foot, too. I love the versatility, plus the duration of treatment is spot on!

I bought this as part of my recovery from ACL reconstruction, LCL repair and a partial meniscectomy. So lots of work done on my knee and lots of inflammation to deal with. I started using this about 1.5weeks after my surgery. Before that I was using a full wrap ice machine. I also have full wrap ice packs in the freezer. So I feel I have a good idea on what the different options are.
If I’m at home my preference is to use the hyperice X or an ice pack from the freezer. Hyperice is loud when cooling, but it’s always ready to go as long as I keep it charged. It can do 3x20min ice cycles at max cold temp. Which is more than enough for me. I usually charge it after 2. Now I still do use my normal ice packs because sometimes it’s more convenient depending on where I’m at. However for traveling anywhere, the only option is the hyperice x or similar machine. Now what I do not use anymore is my full ice machine. It is cooler on wheels with a timer and you have to drain and clean it periodically, and it just isn’t convenient.
I’m not really sure what’s up with everybody’s complaints on temperature, the hyperice x gets just as cold as either my ice packs or the ice machine. Now the caveat there is I cannot cover the hyperice, it needs good ventilation. So if I’m using it under my desk I need to have 4-5″ of clearance or else it doesn’t get as cold and you can feel the air from the fans getting warming. However, uncovered it’s just noisy. Similar to a small dust buster vacuum. This is for cold only, heat is dead quiet.
One thing I haven’t tried out too much so far is the contrast therapy, because I’m still not 6weeks out from my surgery. I have fired it up once or twice though. It feels very nice and is an option that nothing other than similar machines can touch. The battery does drop fast with contrast though. You can usually do one 30min contrast session and part of another if you said cold and hot temps that are near the min/max available. Once again not really a problem for me as I’m fine charging between sessions or even using it while plugged in.
So biggest down side to the machine is the custom charging adapter. I really wish it was USB C, but instead its a custom 9V/6A block. Battery life could be better, but it would weigh more and cooling and heating takes a lot of power. So I think they made the right trade off (on the battery at least). Another downside was lack of case, but I picked up a shoe bag using in luggage and it fit the hyperice and charger just fine.
This is absolutely a luxury item at its current price, but it’s worth it for my recovery. I plan on taking it to work and using it in the middle of the day to keep up with knee swelling. Also I plan on taking it on long road trips. It can keep my knee happy and I can charge it via inverter or power bank with ac out. Currently I’m using it while working from home, I can just quickly grab it anytime w/o having to crutch myself to the freezer and back.

I had FSA money to burn, and I occasionally used an ice pack and Heating pad for bone-on-bone knees. If this worked even a little, it would be a good purchase.
This is a game-changer! It does cold as cold as you could possibly want, hot hotter than you could even stand (if you let it), and does it all with a touch of an APP!
In contrast mode, it can switch between heat and cool on the fly.
There are no tangly heating pad cords or drippy ice packs to forget to put back in the freezer. The futuristic round buttons are cooling fans, which I assume are Peltier devices used when in cooling mode. There is a slight noise when this is activated, but the heat is silent. It’s a quality, well-made medical device that really works!
