As soon as I plugged it in, the terminals pushed back into the tool. I pulled them out in the correct position then superglued them in place. Works perfectly now.

It works, I used to diagnose and rebuild my engine and help tune up and it worked great.

Had a “Service engine soon” light on my 1990 GMC Suburban. Newer vehicles use a different reader, but this is the one for my old truck. In reality, it just jumps across two terminals to make the light on the dash blink out the code and I could have done the same thing with a jumper wire. What I like about this is I can plug it in and sit in the seat and count the blinks without worrying about the jumper wire popping out of place. Also, the unit comes with a book that tells you how to use the device and what the blinks mean. It was worth it to me and I’m glad to have it in my toolbox.

The price was right the scanner worked fine. It just did not do for me. What I thought it would you need to be more text savvy to understand it all even with the instruction book you need to know more than the average bear

Tornou fácil a detecção de falhas nos componentes eletrônicos do sistema de injeção mono ponto de veícu-

First, let me give credit where credit is due. The product works, and it’s easy to use! I was able to retrieve the codes. Some ports are inside the vehicle, my port was in the engine bay. I was able to do everything needed by myself to successfully complete the test. BUT I have 2 Negatives associated with this product. First, When I plugged the reader into the port in the engine bay nothing happened. when I unplugged it I found that 2 of the 4 Prongs had pushed into the reader. Pure Junk. So I opened it up to see what broke. To my surprize, the wires and connections were still intact. I pushed them back into placed and reglued the reader back together. I plugged it back into the port but the prongs pushed back into the reader again. The tiny little blades where the wires connect to the plastic, I guess are too small and don’t hold the connectors in place. I used alligator clips on the ends of the prongs to pull the codes. Second, the booklet fell apart the moment I opened it up to read the directions and again when I was reading the code glossary. The book is poorly made as well. I see You can download the instructions from the web site but why? It comes with a booklet. (was the download an afterthought or did they know in advance) I see now that there is an extension cord you can purchase, this will certainly make it easier to use, then I see others are having the same issue with the prongs and using the cord. so it is definitely an issue with the design and the connections. If they address this issue and solve the problem, then this is a great product for the price. Seems they care a little about the product they have fixed a cheap book by putting making the directions a download. I will attempt to return the product but since I opened it up and then reglued it I doubt I get a refund!

If you have or commonly work on older ford vehicles with EOBD diagnostic service nonnections then this tool is a must have! Very simple and straightforward to use.

There were good and bad parts using this scanner. I did all the tests described in the manual on Mercury Grand Marquis 1994. The good part is that it worked very well. I got all the codes easily and fixed the car. The manual was very thorough although quite verbose. You might want to summarize it by writing out the testing steps for yourself, because continuously reading the cautions like not sticking your fingers into a spinning fan gets tiresome. There is also a mistake in the instructions on page 41. A step is missing between steps 3 and 4.
The bad part of sinking prongs was reported in many other reviews. It happened with my scanner as well. This problem can be easily fixed. There is a small cut-out latch at the base of each prong. If it is not pushed out far enough, it doesn’t catch, and the prong will sink in when you try to plug in the scanner. Before you attempt to use scanner, use a small screwdriver to push all the latches out so they can catch the plastic casing. The bottom line is the scanner works very well, but if not for this stupid problem with sinking prongs, I would have given it five stars.

This is for OBD1 cars up to 1995. 1996 and newer will not work with this. I got this for my 1995 Mazda 626 4-cylinder automatic (with Ford EEC-IV). It worked like a charm the first time! You can also use this to clear continuous memory codes (Keep Alive Memory) which is nice. You can also use this to run a cylinder balance test, KOEO test, and KOER tests if your car is capable of it. This thing has been the best $25 I spent for my 626. There are video tutorials on YouTube for using it with your Mazda 626.
If you’re wondering if you should get the extension cord you should if you can afford it. It does make things like ten times easier with the live test inputs you might have to do like turning your steering wheel, pressing the clutch, brake, or other inputs in order to run the KOER test. In order to do those inputs you need to see the prompt code to do them. That means running from the side of the engine bay into the car to perform those inputs (within 2 seconds of being prompted). It’s easier if you’re sitting in the seat with the reader in your hand, not feeling like Wylie Coyote running around your car. Get the extension cord if you plan on trying to run the more advanced diagnostics.
The manual it comes with is thick (only because it’s split into multiple languages) and might take you reading a couple times to digest all the info and procedures. Out of the whole manual there’s only about 10 pages that you have to read and the rest are code descriptions. They have a long list of compatible cars and the Mazda 626 is not listed. I even emailed Innova about it and they didn’t seem too interested in adding my car to the list because it’s only for specific years (1993-1995), specific engine (2.0L), and transmission (Automatic).
If you currently have to count the check engine light flashes and your car is NOT OBD2… then you’ll want to see if you can use this because it’s a huge time and frustration saver. Worth every penny.

This was easy to use, pulled codes that the repair shop did not find.Used it on 86 Corvette.Worth the money knowing what’s wrong before they fix it.
