Plasitic casing isnt very sturdy but has a clip to clip it on to something. I wouldnt recomend using it in the garage. Or at least only on a carpeted area. The sound quality is terrible by itself even with apps that have amps and different effects. When i tried to use it the way the directions say to with just my phone the volume on the joyo has to be turned way down and same wirh the knobs on my guitar. If i didnt turn everything down the red light would come on and not record on bandlab. I guess it is ok for $20 but i wish i would of spent a little more money on a better one. Or maybe i could of saved money and bought a cheaper one and still gotten the same results. It isnt the easiest to get connected and to actually get a green light. I would not recomend it and i would suggest saving your money.

Plugging in USB-C into this and my iPhone 15 pro max – it does direct recording for audio!
Simple, cheap, works!

It’s great if you need a quick and easy way to record guitar on an iPhone
It works well but the sound quality is obviously not up to par with my better Apogee interface, the headphone out sounds pretty awful.
It does what I wanted though and if it gets lost or broken it’s not that big a deal.

Before I was looking the interface to suit my new IPhone with a C-type connection because I have Irig guitar interface which is I can’t use into my iPhone and then I found this one. Nice with a long type-C cable. The problem I encountered after few records, the output recorded into my iphone 15 pro max is a not totally Ok, sometimes I can hear a very big voice…I’m very disappointed to this interface, that’s why I’m looking/searching again a better one.
Sorry to say, NOT RECOMMENDED!

The second Joyo interface I ordered worked just as I expected it would. It’s important to ensure that all of the connectors are pushed all of the way in. So, I can recommend this product.
After I posted my initial review, Joyo contacted me and offered to do whatever it would take to make me satisfied with the transaction. For that reason, I have changed the rating to three stars. Before Joyo contacted me, I already had returned the product for a refund. Let me add that I have bought other Joyo products that were fine. In fairness to Joyo, I will order and pay for the same product. If it doesn’t work, I’ll contact Joyo directly before returning it.
Initial review:
I must have received a defective product. I tried using it with my iPad, iPhone, and MacPro and it didn’t work. No sound came out of any of the devices. The green light came on and I increased the volume. Nothing worked. I can’t give a high rating to a device that does not function.

“For twenty bucks how bad can it be?” If you’re like 80% of electric guitar players, you might be surprised.
Although it’s hard to detail its limitations with absolute authority, since the included instructions are limited to how to plug it in, and there’s no further information available online in English.
Note that the official joyo videos on YouTube feature unprocessed acoustic guitar, and that’s probably all this is good for.
As soon as you add overdrive or effects you hear the fatal flaw. There’s no way to turn off the direct unprocessed signal in the headphone output. Perhaps there is a way, but they guard the secret thoroughly and the result is unlistenable.
The only official response to that direct question in the Q&A on this page seems to support my conclusion. It seems crazy that anyone would produce a product with such limited utility—essentially excluding all guitarists who use any signal processing—but there it is.
As well, there are the little problems you’d expect from something so cheap: noisy, inconsistent signal, feels fragile, etc. Still, I was ready to ignore all that if it didn’t have that one design flaw making it useless for my purposes.
I was confused by the positive reviews, but I used to sell this stuff, and I remember that a lot of people, especially beginners, just don’t know what things are supposed to sound like. They may develop a more critical ear later, but their review will be frozen in time

Used it to connect a non-USB Røde to an iPhone. Worked perfectly.

Solid inexpensive little device. Pleasantly surprised that it worked with GarageBand. I was even able to run a mono out from my ekit into my phone with this interface.
Spend a little time with it and figure out the output volume for anything that you do run into it as it’s easy to clip.
The only improvement that I would suggest (if even possible ) is a way to control the input volume from your source on the device . ( like -10 db pad switch )
