I’m impressed with this feeder. The top and bottom are made of a sturdy metal and don’t feel like the cheap, stamped metal a lot of feeders are made out of. The feeder goes together easily with the mesh cage attaching securely to the top and bottom with a quarter turn into the hooks in each section. The mesh itself is the perfect size to hold sunflower seeds securely enough that they don’t fall out but are easy for birds to get. Great feeder.

I bought this for suet nuggets. Very nice feeder but birds won’t go near it. Maybe they will be closer to Winter.

This has been a great addition to my property and has worked much better than the feeder I used previously. I had issues with squirrels jumping onto feeders and swinging them around, but the top and bottom of this one has kept them off so far. It lasts a lot longer than my wooden box feeder and has been very attractive to catbirds, woodpeckers, and chickadees already. The construction feels solid and I am a huge fan of the twist off pieces. Very quick to take off and refill or clean. The price is fair and the color I got looks great. Highly recommend if you do not already have this type of feeder.

Very nice, and as mentioned by another reviewer, I’m especially grateful for having both the top and bottom remove for ease of cleaning. The material is polymer-coated mesh and metal; this will hold up well to weather. The overhang of the top should be OK for most drainage.
There are a few things I’d wish were a bit different.
* Add a small extender to the loop on the top. Now, you have to really tip the feeder to work the loop over a shepherd’s hook; not optimal.
* Slightly smaller mesh? I don’t know how others feel about this, but I was getting spillage with quinoa seed. Sunflower seed was fine, but smaller seeds … I’m not sure.
* I’d like a larger top, so that the overhang to the cylinder is greater. This is for melting snow; if not a problem in your area, ignore this.
I wouldn’t have small ‘wish for’ items if I disliked the product; I’d get this again, just because it’s so solid and for the removable bottom.

Basic bird seed feader that’s all metal. Comes in three parts: top, bottom and the middle metal mesh tube. Note that a regular bird seed mix will fall out of the holes when you fill up the tube. I recommend simply wrapping a paper towel around the outside of the tube… then fill. Tamp down slightly, then remove towel. The seed will be balanced/locked inside the mesh. Otherwise, if you just pour seed in, depending on the seed mix, you can get seed falling out all over. lol. There’s a simple round link at the top of the hanger – which slide over my shepherd’s hook without issue. It’s been hanging for a few days now, and looks good. I’m sure the birds will discover it any time now. Love the copper color glaze. I did notice that the are faint impression marks visible on the outer top where the inner twist lock was welded? into place. Faint and not an issue, just part of the product’s charm. Depending on your location, I’d recommend spraying each section inside and out with outdoor clear coat for longevity. The product has a coating over it already, but I live on the coast, so I add a clear coat to almost anything metal as salt air damages most things over time. Nice sized, nice fit and finish, easy to assemble and use.

This simple design is PERFECT for a bird feeder! The top and bottom simply twist and lock into place, allowing for easy access to the top and bottom of this unit, for cleaning and filling. While the design is simple, the feeder is attractive, and the perfect color of green to fit into the landscape. The top and base are very solid, and appear to be well made. I have no trouble twisting the latches into place easily and smoothly. The base allows for ample seating for several birds, and the cone holds 2.5lbs of feed, which should hopefully last more than one day before refilling. I would not hesitate to purchase more of these feeders. This is a solid unit, and a wonderful addition to our bird feeder line-up during the winter months!

I have tried many feeders in my learning to feed the birds. This feeder is great! One of the main things that makes it that way is that it all comes apart easily for cleaning. Many other feeders only allow you to take off the top where you put the feed in. It rains a lot here, and those feeders tend to grow mold quickly if you don’t clean them every week . It also has drainage holes to allow water to go out and help with aeration. It holds a good amount of seed too. The metal makes it durable as well. I would highly recommend this feeder!

Both the top and the bottom screw onto the mesh tube. However they don’t actually lock. It took the squirrels 3 tries to get the bottom off spilling the contents on the ground. Short of gluing the bottom can’t use it.
