I hesitated to order this as the reviews about it arriving broken/cracked worried me a lot. I decided to chance it and I’m so glad I did! It was packaged very securely, a secure and reinforced cardboard box (with some padding) inside an even bigger box. Basic but it worked and arrived unscathed to me.
It’s also bigger than I expected– so if you’re like me and can read dimensions but don’t really get a clear picture in your mind; imagine a five gallon bucket like you get from a hardware store but even taller. Thankfully I had plenty of desk space where I wanted it so my inability to visualize the size wasn’t a problem at all.
I’ve seen a lot of people get this for a betta, and it’s plenty of gallons for one (5+ gallons seems to be the standard) it’s not a good shape for one. Betta are better suited for long, shallower tanks as they need to go to the surface regularly. With some careful hardscaping and planning it could be made to work if given proper levels/areas to rest near the top, but for the price I think you’d be better off getting a standard 10 gallon tank, or even spoiling it with a 20 gallon long. 😉
I plan to use it for shrimp, and it seems like it will work really well for that. Plenty of room for scaping and plants.
I’m not using the lights or filter (or the lid at all, tbh) so I can’t speak to how good those are. I’ve seen other reviews saying the filter wont work because it doesn’t reach to the bottom or that the flow is too strong for a betta. Personally I think the best fix to both of these is to just get a sponge filter (I’m using the adjustable hygger one) but if you want to use the filer it comes with you could probably go to a hardware store and buy a longer plastic/pvc tube so the actual intake is lower towards the bottom of the tank. Seems like more work to me but would probably be petty cheap.
Not much else to say– I have it filled and cycling and it’s going fine so far. No cracks, no leaks. Only using the actual aquarium, not any of the hardware though, so really I’m just saying “it’s a nice plastic cylinder”, so take my review with a grain of salt :p

I wasn’t sure about a round tank, or only a 3 gallon one, but for just starting off, it has worked wonders. Easy set up, easy water changes, and as for the filter, even though it is small, we have simply just rinsed it very well every week, and haven’t had to replace it at all in the 3 months of having this tank, and the water has remained perfect. We change the water every two to three weeks and it has never gotten cloudy. Barely takes up any room!
We have one female Betta, 2 Cloud Minnows and an African Dwarf Frog and they all get along well in this tank. I am looking to upgrade to the 6 gallon one for them soon, as when it was purchased, it was just the female betta, and I want them to have more room. Cats approve as well! They love to sit and watch!

Love the size of this fish tank, perfect for my betta fish to swim around everyday. If you want to keep 1 or 2 fish this tank is for you.

I will say that for the cost, it’s a nice little tank. It can be hard to find something in this shape, so if you really wanted a smaller tube, this one will do. My two major gripes are the light and the lid.
The light is effectively useless for anything but seeing the fish and barely at that- if you have any live plants like I do, it won’t be enough to keep them happy in the least. As you can see in the first picture, I bough a different light altogether and it works for all three tanks on the table. I took the whole light unit out of the little groove it slides into in the lid and now it has an extra hole in it which I plan to put another plant of some kind into so the roots can dangle into the water.
The lid itself is a whole other issue because if you keep your tank fairly full as I do, water accumulates on the underside and EVERY time you tip it open, it will do its best to dump that water out the back of the tank. Not a deal breaker, but a lesson I learned the hard way. You can see in the second picture both how much water is there and how it could slide off and the hole in the lid left by the light.
This being said, I DO like the tank! It’s a nice size -not to big nor too small- my tiger lotus is flourishing and it’ll be perfect for my micro fish. I cannot stress enough how this is not a good tank for a betta, what most people think they want to put in here. While it’s wonderful that you want an appropriately SIZED tank for your friend, this will be much too tall and you’re better off spending the money on a 5 gallon or above in either a regular rectangular shape or a nice bowfront. The betta will appreciate not having to swim up so far to the surface. Would not recommend as a first tank for a child because any fish that will be comfortable in here won’t be something you want a young one looking after.

I received the three gallon tank three days ago. Beautiful, the lights work well, filter has been keeping the tank clean. However, I got up in the middle night and felt need to check on my fish. I noticed my betta was stuck behind the filter. I feel terrible the poor thing is so scared. If I had not woke up it would have died. Tank and lights are great. Filter almost killed my fish. Now I will need to purchase a new filter.

This tank is so pretty 😍 and beautifully made with everything you will need for a startup tank. Add some decor and this tank hands down is easy setup and easy maintenance. I had to get another ❤️

Me encantó, los colores, el tamaño y el diseño. En efecto el filtro no funciona pero aún a pesar de eso la pecera por si sola vale mucho la pena.

I needed a new round tank for my artificial fish family, after my glass one sprang a leak. I decided to try this tank & I’m happy that it has some sturdinedss to it, unlike other tanks that are so thin that the plastic cracks just turning it around. It was easy to assemble and it isnt too big or too small. The only thing I wish is if the light that came with it was easier to understand, as quite often it turns off from a timer, but I can’t figure out why. But my artificial fish & artificial turtles really enjoy their new home. I think my fish even swim better in this tank…possibly because this time I decided to use the filter that came with it. P.s. the tank doesn’t come with the bottom air lines.
