Great coffee machine, turns off the heat element after 1hr. Side water display is larger then most machines, has a reusable filter and a nice stainless finish,

The carafe builds up pressure once hot coffee begins to fill it and prevents the last few cups of brewing coffee from dripping into carafe and pooling on the lid. Result is you return to discover a mess 25% of the time all over the counter/cabinets/floor. Can’t trust it not to do this! Had to put it on a cookie sheet to catch the flooding. It was perfect in every way, EXCEPT OVERFLOWING. I called Canadian KRUPP Customer Service = Lots of talk, Lots of questions, Promises made but never implemented. I had it exchanged and the same problems with the replacement. Our previous KRUPP Savoy was awesome lasting 10 years without once overflowing or any problem – sadly, no longer made. Sadly, KRUPP struck out and we will purchase another brand. Shame on them.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
Thank God for Amazon’s good service for issuing a prompt refund twice. Much appreciated Amazon!

First time using this brand. Nice product: small with the perfect size for a person or two who don’t drink too much coffee, but like one or two a day. The design is very pleasing to the eye. It is compact, easy to use and easy to clean. Its finish makes it look elegant.

Great quality, easy to use, hardly ever hear its on. We love the timer so we set it up the night before and has hot coffee ready when we get up. Works fast and keeps hot until you’re ready for it. Looks very nice on the counter. Highly recommend

This is really a personal size coffee maker. Its footprint is about half a sheet of notebook paper. Krups is a solid well-known brand. In Europe a cup is 6oz. This coffee maker is marked to hold 32 oz of water to produce 30 oz of piping hot coffee. 2 oz of water is lost by soaking through the coffee grounds. It leaves plenty room for adding sugar, cream or that Starbucks effect in my 32 oz tumbler that keeps it hot all day. It’s well made and has nice looking stainless steel and black decor. The carafe is glass and pours better than our bigger one. It has a removable filter cup that holds a removable permanent filter with its own cute little handles. It’s not made to easily use #2 paper filters. I’ll buy a 2nd permanent filter now before I really need it. The whole backside of the coffee maker is the water reservoir. Everything is designed for quick, easy use and clean-up except the cord is 2 feet long and not removable.
I can travel with this little one. Put it in my office. It makes a nice gift. Perfect for dorm rooms, tiny kitchens, or 1-2 people. I can share a generous 16 oz with someone and have one myself. I added a little hand-cranked coffee grinder. It has 6 grind settings. 2 fills grinds all the coffee needed and takes a minute to do both. We have an electric grinder. It’s loud and not something you want to hear in early morning. With 2 lbs of coffee beans I put it all in a small carryon luggage duffle bag. The best part is I make great tasting coffee or tea anywhere I want without disturbing anyone and it’s so much cheaper. No more gas station or fast food coffee for me.
UPDATE: I just want to say I have none of the problems others have reported. No drips, spills, or overflows. The filter and filter cup both snap in to stay without forcing or relying on the lid. Water reservoir openings are large and can fill from left or right side. It’s all one area. This Krups doesn’t auto turnoff but the warming plate will shutoff after 1 hour. It has auto pause for a quick pour. But I’ve never had a time when I can’t wait for a pot to finish. This one is only 30oz. I think some complaints didn’t get genuine Krups. This one has real metal and quality plastic parts where shown. Lookalikes are a very bad problem worldwide. Premium brands get nailed by bad reviews because customers think their product is genuine and don’t question it. We have a Cuisinart at home with all the features. Just like cable TV, we use only 4 all the time. Hope this update adds comparison.

I didn’t want such a big coffee maker on my counter since I’m the only one who drinks it. The small size is so much better looking. Brews great, doesn’t spill out when I pour. I’m very happy with the coffee maker ☺️ Brews fast, gets hot, nice and light weight, easy to use, good value for the money.

Makes great coffee. If you don’t use the carafe to fill the reservoirs, it can be a bit awkward because the cup markings on the reservoir are on the left side, as is the on/off button.
The carafe is a bit light, but instead of leaving it on the hot plate or risking breakage on the granite counter, I use a 1/4″ trivet to set the carafe on.
So, a couple little quirks, but all in all, for the money, a good buy.

One issue with this coffee maker is driving me a bit crazy. Disclaimer: maybe I’m a klutz. The issue is that pouring water into the back of the top, with the lid up, is awkward and often results in water running down the side of the unit. Maybe you’re supposed to stand at 90 degrees so the front of the unit is to your right or your left. I’m not sure that would help. Where I need to position it makes that impossible anyway.
What I like to do is put the exact amount of water I want to use in the carafe and pour all of that into the coffee maker. But getting all of it out requires a really steep pouring angle at the end, and the unit’s lid is in the way… and often really wet from a previous batch, so I don’t want to touch it with the carafe.
Update: The pouring process works great if you overfill the carafe with water then pour out only some of it and dump the rest. This is an extra step and wastes a little water.
I’m giving it four starts though, after trying a couple other 5 cup coffeemakers. This one is the quickest, makes great coffee, isn’t inappropriately noisy, and is clean–no factory residues in the water. (I returned one other coffee maker because even after 5 cycles of just water, factory gunk was visible in the carafe at the end of the cycle. That’s got to be toxic, and I hope they get a call from FDA.)
Also, the three vent holes in the top do help reduce the water condensation on the lid. Three more might be good, but most coffeemakers have no vents at all. So that’s in the plus column.
One other minor flaw: the water level marker on the side of the unit doesn’t match the water level marker on the carafe. A “4” on the side mark makes noticeably more coffee than a “4” on the carafe.
So I had this unit at a 3, but have lowered my standards and it’s now a 4. There just aren’t any really great 5 cuppers out there right now. This one is not great but is very good.
Thoughts for the engineers: See if you can make the lid open wider than 90 degrees and still drain condensation water back into the tank. That would help with pouring space. Two other options: make the unit a bit taller so the carafe can be slimmer. Third, make it a little wider at the top so the tank opening can wrap around the sides of the filter holder a bit–enlarging the opening for pouring water in. I realize this results in a bigger coffeemaker, and its tininess is one of its distinctives. But it doesn’t have to be as tiny as it is.
