This cable is as pictured on Amazon, thin, light and flexible with no exposed metal to cause scratches. Easy to carry in makeshift ways, e.g. an empty bottle cage. I don’t imagine it would stand up to bolt cutters and wouldn’t use it for a bicycle, but it’s convenient for securing a helmet.

I bought this security cable to replace the larger steel cable (that was coiled for use on a bicycle). I needed a steel cale to securely attach the battery to my wife’s lightweight and foldable mobility scooter. It worked perfectly. It is small enough to fit through the battery handle, but heavy enough that it can withstand anything short of bolt cutters. This is a very well made product for a good price if you don’t need a large cable.

As it were, this cable was exactly what I was looking for: a thin, short looped security cable to lock my bike helmet to my u-bar lock. The images other people are posting are totally misleading. Folks are posting pictures of the much(!) thicker Kryptoflex 1004 or 1007 looped cables that are at least 2x thicker (~10-12mm thick). This Kryptoflex 525 looped cable is more like 4-5mm thick. Again, perfect my for my needs, but totally by accident.

It’s exactly what it says: a short cable to add to a lock to secure something else. I use this in a place where I’m not too worried about getting my bike ripped off. Great for securing a wheel or a seat. Kinda thin for being a primary locking cable. Otherwise great.

I have a heavy U-lock (Abus Granit Plus 640) that secures my bike frame and the rear wheel to a bike rack. I also have a quick-release seat. I pull this KryptoFlex 525 cable through the one of the stays on the bottom of the seat, then run one loop through the other loop, and then run the through loop down to the U-lock. This cable also narrow enough to fit through my helmet, so I don’t have to carry it around. A second short, but heavier, cable is used in the same way to secure the quick release front wheel to the U-lock. Someone who with a good pair of wire cutters who knew what they were doing could probably go through this KryptoFlex 525 in a few minutes, but to get a used helmet and seat? This deters crimes of opportunity, not a professional thief; realize what you’re purchasing. The KryptoFlex 525 is small and light weight and also used with the second short cable to suspend the U-lock between the seat stays and the rear bike rack while I’m riding, too, eliminating the need to carry the U-lock with brackets on the down tube. In short, it’s perfect for what I need.

Great quality, solid and robust enough to prevent casual theft I’m sure. As some said, it would take an opportunistic pair of bolt croppers to cut this off.
As suggested by others, you might think it’s a bit smaller than expected having viewed the photo, but reading the product specification it’s as advertised so it’s exactly as I expected. I’ll try to add a picture to my review later, to give it some perspective.
I can also fit the end of this cable right through an eye bolt with an eye of 15mm (you squish the loop a bit to pop it through, and the orange covering over the cable joint will fit through too), so I can loop this cable through itself onto an anchor point.
Overall very pleased: compact, strong and quality item.

Came back from vacation and used this to secure my luggage & bags when I stored them in the hotel. I had some important items and documents on me that I didn’t want hotel staff rummaging through. Though I had stayed in a high end hotel, I’ve never trusted any staff with my belongings, as they all have access to all the rooms.
Ties everything together securely with the addition of a sturdy lock. I looped it through the hand towel rack in the bathroom and had more trust in it than the “safe” in the room.
I haven’t tried it on my bicycle yet, and probably won’t, as I feel like it’s too thin and not strong enough against thieves and their cutters.
Also, if you’re traveling alone & staying in a cheap hotel/motel, you can also loop it around the door knob and something secured on the adjacent wall for an additional lock as you sleep. May not be as practical as a product specified for that task, but better than nothing.
