Keeps my fish/turtle tank clean and clear. Flow is pretty strong. Decent quality filter for the price. Seems easy to wash the filter when cleaning. Filter is of white noise, not too loud.
Con, filters from the sides so doesn’t pick up bottom debris.

Just installed a few hours ago and will update if anything changes! This image was right after assembly and it began clearing the water up so quickly, it is nearly crystal clear now! It is pulling sediment that our gravel vac didn’t pick up and cleaning our 70 gallon tank so well! Perfect filter for the tank size. Aerator is perfect also, especially with adjustable flow. So much quieter than the waterfall sound from our previous filter and the vibrations from our previous aerator. Soooo happy with it.

The media could not be loaded.
This is not a water filter for turtle! It is super super strong and my turtle could not even swim normally or eat normally because it sucks up the food before they could even try eating it! It so strong my turtle are legit being “drowned” by the force of it and it does not keep the water clean at all it legit just a decorations with sponges. I tried reaching out to the seller about this issue or asking them if I set up the filter wrong and never gotten an answer. Bad quality had seller. I may return this in a few days. After trying to rearrange the filter it still doesn’t work! Force is strong like before and it does not keep the water clean at all! The pellets flys everywhere and my turtle can not eat them at all! The water still gets dirty like before. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL.

I LOVE this little filter! It’s so easy to clean that I do so with every water change!
It’s quiet and I’m not constantly buying expensive filtration cartridges.
The water flow is pretty strong for my little guppies but the filter itself works really well.
I really like the fact it’s submerged in my tank, not hanging.
It would be great if it was just a little smaller as it is hard to submerge completely in a 10 or 20g tank with 1-2″ of gravel.

This sucker works great and keeps my 55 gallon tank clean/free of debris. Also creates a nice flow for giving my fish a nice up-stream workout. Installation and maintenance of the unit is very simple and easy. Overall great addition to my under-gravel filtration system. Cheers

I am one of those people who really prefer to not handle dirty filters. You can’t clean this one without removing it entirely from the tank and snapping apart the brittle plastic sections. Then you need to pull the sponges out and rinse them and the plastic sections. I found it easiest to put the filter in a bucket and take it outside where I could snap it apart and rinse everything with the hose. The whole process is messy and time-consuming, especially compared to a hang-on-back filter where you just swap cartridges.
The filter works quite well. It gives a lot of current to the tank, and having the inlets spread across the bottom half of the filter prevents it from sucking in or trapping fish. It is fairly quiet, particularly for how much water it moves. But it isn’t silent. The aerator can be fairly noisy depending on its valve setting.
It is not subtle. The bright-colored sponges stand out in the tank. This might work well in a tank that is filled with neon plants and gravel. In a tank with live plants and moss, it demands attention.
It is a good value for the money, though there are decent HOB filters that work about as well and are much easier to clean for similar prices. It could be a good choice for some, but it wasn’t for me.

When it comes to flow this is great and it does a rather good job of filtering despite some issues with its design. Suction cups seem to work very well and it has a unique slide on the mount so you can adjust the pump in the water column a small amount. The current filter media does a great job of filtering and polishing the water but as I note below could have a slightly better design.
I’m knocking one star for a couple reasons:
First, the filter system could be improved. If you remove the bottom cap it does have slits for intake on the bottom but the included filter has a hole and trap insert. It also pulls in from the sides through all three types of filters instead of just pulling through layer by layer. I may try and use some plastic sheeting to block the side vents and install filter media that would allow for it to only pump from the bottom up.
My second issue is the aerator attachment. It seemed to work fine at first but if you put the angle attachment on the nozzle with the aerator it impacts the flow and causes air suction to stop. I removed the angle attachment but now it just has spurts of air so I am guessing I will have to pull the whole filter out and make sure it is clear of any debris/moisture and reinstall it to get the aerator to work again? Until then I put the angle back on but have it causing a slight ripple on top to hopefully catch some air naturally. When I capped off the second nozzle the aerator could work again but was almost too violent for my tank. May try to combo the plug on the second nozzle with the angle attachment on the aerator to see if that will give me good but not distracting water flow.
