I live in the Pacific Northwest, where it’s wet for long periods of time. I noticed that the tips on my Komperdell trekking poles would slip on leaves, and, wet sidewalk. I purchased these with the hope that they would fit my poles, VOILA they fit my Komperdells, , my Swix Nordic walking poles, and, my brand new Pacerpoles. Fantastic!
JuHowa –
I’ve always preferred the Leki tips. While they may not be suitable for everyone, they provide the extra traction/grip I was seeking so I’m happy with my purchase.
Tahoe Gal –
This tip is still somewhat slippery and noisy on asphalt surface and very slippery on concrete or other smoother surfaces. I really like my plain rubber tips for hard surfaces much better. It works as good as the tips with the rubber removed for dirt or trails. I think they are way over priced for what you get. Buy the heavy duty rubber tips instead, if you want a better traction for hard surfaces, stick with the carbon tips for trails and dirt.

They arrived on time and work great. Had lots of ice to use them on.

These might be nice for extra traction hill walking in dirt, but they are very little help, if any, in our normal MN ice and snow. No good at all on icy driveway or parking lots, unless I get to open gravel. Forget paved walking paths – they just skitter across the surface.
Very, very disappointing for the cost.

This is an essential item for those of us who live in icy locations.

These Leki tips replace the original ones perfectly and provide additional grip on winter surfaces. I am hoping that the metal tips also provide longer life. Time will tell.

I always walk with it. I am into forest, wet, muddy and sandy area.
I know it is pricy. But If you love nordic walk, it will be best friend for you.

While expensive these steel studded tips allow pole walking, light trecking in icy conditions. Almost like studded tires on my old Merc Mountaineer allow me to ‘surdrive’ the ice of a Montana winter. Combined with a good set of foot cleats (like Yak Tracks) allows me to keep nordic walking in some otherwise slick conditions.
