David Lee –
Easy to connect to my Chuwi minibook. No additional power input required. Installed the included Cyberlink Media suite software without any problems. Opened and played my Blu-ray disc without any problems.
Build quality could be better. Finish is good but material is plastic. Would have been great if material was metal but I am nitpicking at this price point.
Let’s see whether this can last.

Excellent lecteur/graveur Bluray et dvd

I think these drives are excellent values, mine worked out of the box great. The one I got was manufactured in Sept 2022, so this is new stock. The drive functioned well and was quiet, but I ultimately returned it because most of the blu-rays I was renting from my local library were vibrating (causing LOUD noises) and erroring-out due to the anti-theft sticker they applied (Stingray?) The drive is simply too slim to play some blu-rays with stickers, which is what most libraries have.
HOWEVER, it did work fine with all my personal “stickerless” blu-ray discs, hence the strong rating.
Pros:
-Super slim (also a con but I will get to this later)
-Worked with standard blu-rays out of the box
-TECHNICALLY possible to cross-flash the firmware to play/read 4k discs (you will have to flash to an unencrypted 1.02 standard firmware, and then cross-flash to the BP60NB10 1.00 FW.)
-Very acceptable read speeds if you are backing-up any discs
-Decent price (80-90$)
CONS
-Will not work with any rental/library discs that use RFID stickers to prevent physical theft due to how thin the housing is. Bluray discs start vibrating at about 1x speed and start clipping the top of the drive housing. (Funny enough, applying light/medium pressure to the sides allows room for the vibrations to occur and discs will play just fine, but you have to have your hand on it the entire time.)
-Flimsy inner tray is a two/three piece sliding mechanism that always sags and feels bad to pull discs off of. (although it’s probably fine)
-The noise at normal read speeds is good, but higher read speeds and ANY imbalance or raised stickers on the disc will cause horrible noise and errors.
CONCLUSION
Overall, I recommend this drive if you know that you will ONLY be attempting to read blu ray discs that are non-rental/library (no stickers). Maybe for someone looking to back-up their personal collection, but not for the family movie night while borrowing from a local library.

Good drive, but slower speeds (as expected due to usb 2.0)
For people trying to flash firmware using MakeMKV – your only choice to flash it will be using the command line / terminal. Make sure to download the modded firmware files, and follow the instructions on the MakeMKV forums. (This is for cross-flashing so this drive can be used for 4k BluRays)
If you are using this to watch movies – I would advise against using the software this comes with. Use VLC instead. It’s not bulky, and not as sketchy. You don’t need to pay for the software – and it can play DVD’s and BluRays.
This is definitely a good buy for people wanting to flash or just to use for watching movies on your computer
Douglas Bomer –
I bought this to rip my cd’s into my iTunes library. It works well! I plan on using it to back up photos to blueray discs in the future.
Wyatt Morgan –
The bluray players worked amazingly and even came with a software disc that allowed you watch Region A Blurays! With that being said with software’s like MakeMKV you can blueray disks outside of Region A no problem.
Cliente de Amazon –
Incluye su software el cual mejora la calidad de imagen muy nítida de los discos blu-ray, no se traba en lo absoluto muy fluido, recomendado al 100%
AC –
El software incluido es muy limitado en su función

Top quality and fast shipping.

Using to rip Movies to server, only gripe is the USB connection times out the server so you need to unplug and plug back in the mini USB ,do not see the jack lasting ,USB c would have been a more robust choice there.

***Final Update***
Make MKV and Handbrake = the way to go when you want the best quality ripping.
**Further Update**
DOES NOT support 4k.
**A little bit of an update**
Great little device, you can’t go wrong, unless your ONLY purpose is to RIP Blu-Rays and want to dish out another couple hundred for an ASUS 6x ripper AND have a CPU that can support that speed.
Second counter to negative reviews: The longevity. Don’t try to RIP multiple files at once, or yes, your device will last about 2 days. RIP only 1 file at a time.
Third counter to negative reviews: Software. To RIP Blu-Rays you have 3 real choices of software:
– 1st: Handbrake or VLC
These are free but do not support encrypted Blu-Ray movies.
– EasyFab
Inexpensive for lifetime use, easy to use, simple interface, useful tools. Doesn’t do HVEC (x265) encoding which is far superior to x264, doesn’t crop videos, doesn’t support latest NVIDIA’s gimmicky hardware, and doesn’t do 4k rips.
– DVDFab
Feels like pirated software with Wukong ( a Chinese deity that is like a cross between Satan and Loki ) as a logo and a clunky/bloated interface. However, this will encode in x265, does support NVIDIA’s gimmicky hardware, does rip 4k, does auto iTunes tagging that is mostly correct, does auto crop that is usually okay, and does bypass any and all encryptions. The problem is, it’s Chinese, their terms of service blatantly tells you they will sell your information to shady people, and it’s hella expensive at 140 bucks.
Best Tool for iTunes Tagging and DVD Rips:
Hands down: Aimersoft Ultimate
No other tool comes close. This is beyond comparison the best bang for the buck video software that is on the market. Excellent tools, useful options, clean interface, good support, and inexpensive for what you get. Just make sure you set in the preferences to convert only 1 file at a time, if you are RIPPING a DVD.
Best video players for playing Blu-Rays
– VLC is the open-source one that everyone loves
– Gom is the one I like. Gom has annoying ads, but more than makes up for it in useful tools, customization and out-of-the box support for video and audio formats. A firewall solved my ad problem with Gom.
