Mainly leaving this info for other folks who are not familiar with how the soundbar connects to TV. After many attempts to connect soundbar to my LG TV, I basically gave up and reached out to LG support. Efforts to reach a knowledgeable and English speaking tech agent were at best very frustrating to the point of wanting to pack the soundbar back up and returning it. LG tech support was horrible especially the “chat” connection. I “spoke” with no less than 4 separate agents all of which were to me not knowledgeable enough to figure out what my problem was getting soundbar to work properly with TV. Downloaded the 50 or so pages of the user manual. It is very detailed but confusing and in my instance, led me the wrong way to connect soundbar. After 2 more phone call to tech support, the problem was resolved. (BTW, all the tech support agents were difficult to understand due to fact they are foreign which is the norm these days)
Here’s how you’re supposed to connect your cable box, tv, and soundbar. HDMI cable out of the cable box into the TV…this was the problem for me. Then connect another HDMI ARC type cable to your TV’s HDMI ARC input/output and connect it to the HDMI ARC input on soundbar. According to user manual, this wasn’t the correct method but it all made sense after I was told to connect cable box cable to tv directly. Previously I had the system working fine with using soundbar HDMI input but every time I shut tv down and turned tv back on, the soundbar would change input back to the HDMI ARC preventing video and audio from reaching tv. Like I said earlier, support agents all missed this incorrect connection. My LG tv was telling the soundbar to change the input from HDMI to HDMI ARC (which we know now is correct input). TV also controlled the the soundbar power on and off…nice feature.
So my system works fine now. My Spectrum cable box, TV, and soundbar all come on and off using my Spectrum remote. The volume also is controlled by the Spectrum remote. My wife couldn’t be happier. The sound function on soundbar is set to CLEAR dialogue which was the whole reason for getting a soundbar. Added bonus was the subwoofer which provides the much needed bass. Subwoofer connects automatically too. No problems.
So if you’re a new to these soundbars, connect the cables as described and you won’t have any problems. I just wish I didn’t need to waste 5 or more hours with tech support to figure this out.

I got this hoping to hear dialect better. It made all the sounds better, gave an overall improvement and depth to the sound. I can’t say it worked for the dialect as I had hoped, but I am very happy with it. I have it set for the sound bar and the tv sound combined, which I think gives the best sound for hearing speech. I know there are way more pricey sound bars out there that may do more, but for the money I am very satisfied and would recommend this one. Also, a plus, it is pretty easy to set up but the instructions could be more detailed for those of us who didn’t know what an optical cord was, lol 😂

Like many other reviewers, the main motives for buying an external speaker for my LG65 TV (not OLED) was to improve overall sound quality and stabilize the volume when an action scene or commercial comes on.
I had read that some reviewers had difficulties setting it up, but that was not the case for me.
I followed the simple instructions using the optical cable provided, changed the setting on my TV speaker out. And that was it.
The sound is much better. Base is good. I never did want it rattling windows while Treebeard stomps through the forest.
I’m not sure I would recommend this sound system at MSRP, but with the discount Amazon offered, it was a very good buy for me.

Je l’ai raccordé à la TV pour améliorer le son, mais pas réellement nécessaire. Le manuel pour le raccordement à la TV est difficile à comprendre. Je n’ai pas réussi à utiliser le raccordement HDMI. Heureusement, le raccordement avait la fibre optique fut très facile et satisfaisant.

Very disappointed in this speaker. We previously had an LG sound bar that was similar and it broke after 4 years, so we decided to get another. This speaker cuts in and out, even with a new HDMI cable, and a new HDMI 90 degree adapter to ensure the HDMI cable was not being bent at the head too much. We have tried it with different televisions, our laptop, etc and it still cuts in and out. LG told us that we have to hire a service technician to come and fix the speaker, but we live deep in the Rockies and would have to pay the tech travel fees. Overall, a very poor experience!! Do not waste your money on this sound bar.

Just pass the 30 day return policy and it started producing a fuzzy noise ever since. Currently have had the unit since the end of May and everything else seems fine, disappointing for the price and the brand.
