Exchanged the unit on Amazon, 2nd Unit, I understood install procedure well, no issues. Good Camera, good door bell function. Not so much viewing at night, Door bell LED reflects off of install location and blinds camera.

Do not buy this door bell canera
When i bought this unit it was amazing for the first 30 days or so now it goes off line 6-10 times a day rendering it unless as boobs on a bull bigest piece if junk ever

I replaced my 1st generation 720p an older Ring doorbell camera thinking this would be an upgrade, I was wrong. This Lorex 2K has subpar detection even after maxing out the sensitivity level to the max (5), slow WiFi connection when notifying alerts, and narrower horizontal field of view. Again, I’m comparing this to my Older Ring doorbell camera which is in the same location and using the same WiFi connection as my OLDER Ring doorbell camera. The only positives for the Lorex 2K camera is the built-in SD card and better resolution. Do not purchase this doorbell.

Couldn’t get through set-up. Device kept saying wifi password was incorrect, when it was the correct password. Lorex Support blamed this on our mesh wifi system, even though every other camera and wireless lock works perfectly. Wish I could have used it or Lorex support could have corrected it, but now I have to return the item and find another doorbell that’s “compatible with mesh wifi” (or just is able to identify a wireless network and accept the correct password).

I bought this product after a friend with a wired unit demonstrated how well it worked. For me, the unit has been a big failure. 1) the battery version is not “always on” like the wired version, so it often only starts filming after a delivery person has already turned back around to leave (never capturing a face) 2) it often tells me there is a PERSON at my door when a car drives by 3) I’ve gotten deliveries before and the camera doesn’t alert me at all. I even returned my unit for a replacement, hoping it was a defective one, but the new unit is just as bad. My home has a covered porch, so I’m not sure if the uprights on watch side or the front stoop are fooling the unit into thinking there’s a person there, but it is super frustrating, even after getting tech support from the manufacturer. I do not recommend this unit.

This will catch someone riding a bike out on the road but wont notice a car pulling up to my gate. It seems to only catch people going by and nothing else. I have look at the settings and not seeing a way to change it. I was hoping this would be comparable to the Ring so far I’m disappointed.
