My hubby lays blacktop for a living, so we needed a cooler that could withstand the heat, and also fit all of his tools and other odds and ends since there’s really not space to put multiple bags on his machine, and the car can be miles away.
So first things first, yes. This backpack cooler does keep his food and drinks cold all day long, even being around hot asphalt all day. It’s very well insulated.
Next- This bag fits EVERYTHING! There are so many pockets and the zippers dont get caught! He uses the front pouch with the utensil slots to organize his tools. The top pouch fits his wallet, phone, and sunglasses. There’s a secret pouch behind the lumbar padding that’ll come in handy when we’re in NYC.
The padding on the shoulders and back is very thick, so it’s not uncomfortable even when it’s filled with a giant thermos, food, and tools. Can comfortably walk around with this all day long for hiking or urban exploration.
BONUS- He’s able to use the chest strap to secure the bag to the back of his seat while running the machine, so we no longer have to worry about it falling off! (His last cooler was a Milwaukee, and the strap broke and it got run over by the roller, crushing everything inside. And this has happened with at least 4 regular coolers over the years.)
Overall, this Backpack cooler is extremely versatile. We plan to get a second one to use for camping, vacations, and just to have when we’re planning to be out all day, just so he doesn’t have to take all of his work stuff out of the one we already have.
1000% recommend!

As always, arrived quickly and in good shape.
The bag’s primary compartment is the cooler, with a zippered space up top for things you want to remain separate but still keep cold. There is another compartment on the very top that isn’t insulated, as well as a front pouch with two zippered compartments. The larger of the two is shone and is built to help organize utensils. There’s also a zippered compartment on the lower back pad, which I also show in a picture. I wouldn’t put much in there unless it is very flat or else I can see that being pretty uncomfortable. Still, a nice “hidden” compartment of sorts. Two standard mesh side pockets for ater bottles or small items, each has a draw cord to tighten as needed. Overall, plenty of additional storage space for the odds and ends you’ll need when going out with this. The included bottle opener is a nice touch.
So, big question, how much beer or wine can it hold? I only had 16oz cans on hand, so I’m not sure with 12oz cans or bottles, but I comfortable got 24 cans in there (pictured) with room for some ice. For a bit more ice and a better packing set-up, I found that 22 worked better, with 18 standing and 4 laid across the top. For wine, it easily fit 8 Bordeaux, Alsatian or even Burgandy bottles. I mixed and matched different size and shape bottles a bit…the taller Alsatians had plenty of room and all Burgandy was a bit of a tighter squeeze but it was okay. Sparking bottles were too big to share a column with any other bottle, but you can offset them a bit (zig-zag pattern) and get 6 definitely, maybe 7 in there. You can also get a similar number by lying them down, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you have differently shaped bottles as they don’t stack neatly.
The bag is a bit heavy when full, as would be expected. The back padding is actually pretty good. The shoulder straps held up okay, but I don’t know if it would be comfortable for long. Still, for this price point, I think that is to be expected. For me, it’s primarily for day trips with the car or canoe/kayak, so I’m not walking with it for long and this isn’t an issue. Food is generally lighter than beer, so if you are packing some food and drinks together, it feels a lot better. The seams and zippers seem well constructed, so I don’t feel like the bag is going to tear apart, even at full capacity. You can turn the entire inner lining inside out for easy cleaning. I haven’t noticed any leaking issues although admittedly I haven’t had it full of a lot of water yet. As for cold retention, I haven’t gotten a chance to truly test it, but it has kept things cold for short periods of time so far without any concerns. If you are expecting something to hold ice for days at a time, you aren’t going to be paying this little for it, so understand your purchase.
Overall, a solid cooler bag that does what you would expect. I would definitely recommend it at this price point.

Bought this to pack meals for 10-12 hour work shifts out on sites. With three small ice packs, it is able to keep my lunch(es) and a few drinks cool up until lunch time. Even when I get home and take the ice packs out, they’ve already melted but remained cool. I’ve even had some food stay in there that I didn’t eat (like yogurt or fruits) and they’re still cold when I get home.
Functionally, there are a lot of pockets available:
Outer Top Pocket – I use to hold my phone charging cable, backup battery, earbuds, and contact lenses case.
Inside Top Pocket – I use to hold cough drops, gum, pretty much anything I want kept cool but not cold.
Side Mesh Pockets – I use to hold my eyeglass case, measuring tape, LOTO lock/tag, flashlight, pens.
Outer Pocket – Use to hold some sanitizing hand solution, and my forks/spoons.
Outer Most Pocket – I keep any handbooks or paperwork.
Bungie Cord – I use to hold a jacket or hat
Side Loops – I have a carabiner to hold keys
Side Buckle – I use to hold my belt
Back Hidden Pocket – I use to hold my aspirin, eye drop solution, and vitamins
So as you can see, there’s a lot of functionality with this bag. One thing I haven’t test yet is the company claims it’s inner insulation is seamless, so washing it out should be simple and easy, without completely soaking whatever are in the other pockets.
Lastly, the only con I have of this bag, is if I don’t have anything packed in the insulated pocket, and the top pocket still has all my electronics and cables, the backpack will sag backwards under the weight. Minor annoyance, but shows there is no rigidity built in to the main pocket.
But overall, a very good cooler bag. So far, it serves it’s purpose well!

The bag looks great and very spacious. I just tested it for a picnic and it kept the popsicle frozen the whole afternoon I was there. They finally melted sometime between 5-7 hours, but I only used ice walls and kept opening the bag to hand the popsicle to the kids, so the ambient air kept creeping in (not the bags fault). Ice water might have kept them frozen longer. One thing I’d modify is having slots to place the ice walls. I had them in the bag, vertically stacked but loose and in the way when I was filling the bag. So, either a mesh on the inside or zipper slots on the outside.
